Competition: Win a Copy of Acron: Attack of the Squirrels for Oculus Quest

Yesterday Resolution Games released its eighth virtual reality (VR) title in the form of social multiplayer Acron: Attack of the Squirrels. Supporting a range of headsets one of the best to play the videogame on is Oculus Quest thanks to its wire-free portability. And thanks to our friends at Resolution Games VRFocus just so happens to have several Acron: Attack of the Squirrels codes for Oculus Quest to giveaway.

Acron: Attack of the Squirrels

While Acron: Attack of the Squirrels does have online capabilities to play people around the world its true genius is in local multiplayer mode. Only one person plays in VR, in the role of a tree who needs to protect its golden acorns from thieving little squirrels. The VR player can do this by grabbing and flinging the squirrels away when they’re close enough or by lobbing various balls of foliage to knock them out.

Naturally, the squirrels are wiley little critters which dash all over the place proving to be hard targets. There are four characters to choose from, each with their own unique ability such as burrowing or running really fast. Just to make matters worse for the VR player up to eight people on mobile phones can join in the action. either on iOS or Android devices.

VRFocus gave Acron: Attack of the Squirrels a commendable 4-star rating in our review, saying: “There really isn’t much to dislike about Acron: Attack of the Squirrels as its such an amusing videogame. Resolution Games has stuck with its tried and tested playful design, whilst bringing some multiplayer mayhem to the table, making it an ideal choice for Oculus Quest owners who like to take their headset out and about.”

Acron: Attack of the Squirrels

So onto the competition. Today VRFocus is giving away several codes for Acron: Attack of the Squirrels on Oculus Quest. There are multiple ways to enter the giveaway with the standard prize draw entry rules applying: Follow us (or already be following us) on Twitter or alternatively, visit our Facebook page or YouTube channel to get an entry for each. Only one code is available per person, each drawn randomly. The competition will be open a week. Beginning today and ending at midnight UK time on Friday 6th September 2019. The draw will be made shortly thereafter. Best of luck.

Competition: Win a 3dRudder + Scraper: First Strike for PlayStation VR

Earlier this month Labrodex Studio launched its first-person shooter (FPS) Scraper: First Strike for PlayStation VR and next month will see 3dRudder release its compatible foot controller onto the North American market. So to celebrate, VRFocus has teamed up with both for an awesome competition, where you can win a 3dRudder and a copy of Scraper: First Strike.

Scraper: First Strike PSVR

3dRudder is a foot-based controller originally built for virtual reality (VR) headsets like Samsung Gear VR before supporting PC VR devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Now it’s the turn of PlayStation VR, enabling gamers to play titles such as The Mage’s Tale, Space Junkies, Telefrag VR, Sairento VR, The Wizards – Enhanced Edition and many more.

It has been designed to make movement in gaming far more comfortable, tilting and twisting your feet to wander through massive open worlds. Plus, because 3dRudder has to be used seated it allows movement in much more confined areas – great for those that don’t have loads of space.

Scraper: First Strike puts you in the role of a member of the Human Resistance Force (HRF), as a Modified Hover Pod pilot. With this floating weapons platform, you need to kill loads of robots, assault a secret base and restore power. Offering a 8 hour+ single-player campaign, Scraper: First Strike is designed to be a comfortable VR experience when using full locomotion controls whilst offering lots of role-playing game (RPG) style elements such as upgradable armour and guns as well as being able to build new loadouts.

3drudder

The 3dRudder + Scraper: First Strike competition starts today and runs through to Monday 29th July, 11.59pm BST (4pm PST). Once the competition has closed the draw will be made shortly thereafter. VRFocus will contact the winners for delivery details, which will take place on or after 5th August 2019

VRFocus will in fact be running two competitions, one for North America and one for Europe, with a controller and digital game key on offer in both regions. There are multiple ways to enter the giveaway with the standard prize draw entry rules applying: Follow us (or already be following us) on Twitter or alternatively, visit our Facebook page or YouTube channel to get an entry for each. Entries for the North American giveaway will not be accepted from European participants and vice-a-versa. Best of luck.

Competition: Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR & Bonfire for Oculus Quest

Would you believe it, VRFocus is just too good to our readers and we’ve gone and secured some more videogame codes for another Friday competition. A few weeks back we held a giveaway to win codes for Moss and Shadow Point for Oculus Quest. Well today, VRFocus has more codes available for Oculus Quest owners, this time for Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR and Bonfire.

Racket Fury VR Oculus Quest

If you like to be active in virtual reality (VR) and you’re somehow bored of Beat Saber or punching people in the face with Creed: Rise to Glory then how about delving into the competitive world of table tennis – albeit a futuristic one with robots. Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR encompasses the fast-paced sport of ping pong into a single-player experience.

Originally released in 2017 for HTC Vive before expanding support to include Oculus Rift, Oculus Go and PlayStation VR,  Racket Fury: Table Tennis VR features 16 opponents to face across several challenging cups. Retailing for £14.99 GBP on the Oculus Store, the title also features multiplayer with cross-play and cross-buy support. So if you win a code it’ll also unlock the Oculus Rift version.

The second title VRFocus has codes for is Baobab Studios’ latest narrative experience Bonfire. The VR content developer is well known for a slew of awesome animated titles including Invasion!, Asteroids! and Crow: The Legend. Bonfire is a sci-fi story with interactive elements. You’re looking for a new home for humanity within the cosmos but unfortunately, your piloting skills aren’t too great and you crash-land on an unknown planet. Huddled around a makeshift bonfire for warmth strange noises suddenly appear from the forest.

Competition: Space Ops VR

It’s Friday, and what better way to celebrate than by announcing a competition. Last week developer DevCubeStudio and publisher Fibrum released sci-fi, bug-stomping shooter Space Ops VR. And to celebrate the launch VRFocus has been supplied with a bunch of Steam codes to give to our lucky readers.

Space Ops VR

Featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, Space Ops VR is a futuristic training simulator for rookie soldiers looking to become highly skilled special operatives. It’s all about squashing bug-like alien foes which can grow a little bit bigger than the average house spider.

There are Basic Training and Sandbox modes for beginners played solo or co-operatively, with varied missions to test those skills. Or for a tougher challenge, there are always the PvE and PvP modes inside the Arena. Here you can engage in all-out war with players around the world, completing various challenges.

To aid in this endeavour you’re supplied with an assortment of destructive weaponry. Kinetic, Beam and Plasma guns can cut down hostiles while grenades and other explosives will send them flying.

Space Ops VR

For this competition, VRFocus is giving away 10 Steam codes for Space Ops VR, which supports Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. There are multiple ways to enter the giveaway with standard prize draw entry rules applying: Follow us (or already be following us) on Twitter or alternatively, visit our Facebook to get an entry for each. Competition: Oculus Quest Game Giveaway

Last week was quite the event with the launch of Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest both on the same day. Here at VRFocus we rather like the new standalone headset, with the redesigned Oculus Touch controllers. It’s a tidy package, and there are some great videogames available if you’ve picked one up already. Picking and choosing which titles to buy can be a tricky process so VRFocus is making it easier by giving away codes to some of the best experiences available for the headset.

Moss Twilight

In today’s competition, VRFocus is giving away codes for Moss and Shadow Point thanks to those fine creators at Polyarc and Coatsink Software respectively.

Moss is a lovely puzzle adventure featuring a little mouse called Quill. Originally released in 2018 for PlayStation VR, then Oculus RIft and HTC Vive, Moss was one of the best received virtual reality (VR) videogames of last year. When VRFocus reviewed Moss we said: Moss is a flawlessly crafted experience starring a character that absolutely deserves to be the face of modern VR. Every inch of the world shows attention to detail, and a story is woven that draws you in, making you truly invested in the world and in Quill as a person.”

And to mark the launch of the Oculus Quest version Polyarc announced a brand-new chapter called Twilight Garden, arriving on the standalone headset first.

Shadow Point

Shadow Point, on the other hand, is an exclusive VR experience for Oculus Quest. Coatsink Software has created a puzzle adventure narrated by none other than Sir Patrick Stewart, where you have to use light and shadow to solve the challenges and unlock the story.

Great for first time VR players, Shadow Point scored well in VRFocus’ review, which stated: “Shadow Point is a suitably well-accomplished puzzle experience.”

Standard prize draw entry rules apply: Follow us (or already be following us) on Twitter or alternatively, visit our Facebook to get an entry for each. The competition will be open a week. Beginning today and ending at midnight UK time on 31st May 2019. The draw will be made shortly thereafter. Best of luck.

Arca's Path keyArt

If you’ve not been following VRFocus’ coverage of Arca’s Path then continue reading. The videogame is a dark fairytale puzzle experience set within crystalline landscapes, where players control a ball through 25 labyrinthine levels, using only their gaze to intuitively lead the character’s sphere through the maze and out the other side.

Last month VRFocus released its second preview for Arca’s Path, finding that: “The videogame has been designed to be challenging but in enjoyable bite-sized chunks. dRi is ready to accept that VR hasn’t yet matured to the point where a mass market audience would happily spend hours at a time wearing an HMD, and while Arca’s Path will most definitely be enjoyed by the core videogame demographic it’s clearly positioned as an experience that anyone can enjoy.”

And so onto the competition. VRFocus has 10 codes available, 5 for Steam (compatible with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality headsets, and 5 for PlayStation VR (European codes only). All you need to do is Follow us on Twitter and Retweet this tweet stating which platform you’d prefer. The competition will be open for 24 hours, with winners notified once Arca’s Path has launched.
