Last month Skydance Interactive announced that its hugely popular zombie survival videogame The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners would be getting a major update later this week, adding a whole new story chapter. Alas, that’s not to be – just yet – with the studio issuing a statement saying the launch has had to be delayed by several weeks.

The statement reads:
“We have been spending a lot of time in the past weeks getting our game ready for the announced Aftershocks update. However, technical issues have arisen which we did not anticipate. Launching on multiple platforms and upgrading to a new engine version is tricky to say the least.
“The bottom line is that we do not want to ship without knowing that you can access the Aftershocks update on whatever supported VR hardware you are using and have an experience up to our standards. As such we have made the hard decision to delay this update initially planned for May 20.
“This delay may push the launch by several weeks. We know having a definitive answer is important, so we will reach back out on our social channels once we have a final date we are confident we can hit.
“Thank you for your support and patience.”
So for now The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners fans will just have to be content with the core campaign as well as The Trial horde mode. If you’ve not finished the main storyline then at least this gives you more time to enjoy the flooded remains of New Orleans and to find any secrets still lurking in its remains.

From the details Skydance Interactive has released so far, the Aftershocks update continues the narrative. Without spoiling too much, throughout the single-player adventure you hear about ‘The Reserve’, a military bunker full of weapons, ammunition, food and other supplies. In the Aftershocks update, a stockpile of supplies from The Reserve has been located, which you need to find asap. Cue new missions, hidden collectables, and new survival tools.
Hopefully, the wait won’t be too excessive as the studio puts the finishing touches on the update. Once ready it’ll be free for all The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners no matter the platform. As further details are released, VRFocus will let you know.
