Time Carnage sees players immersed in a series of unique battlegrounds across time, including a post-apocalyptic world, prehistoric jungle, icy wasteland and a futuristic metropolis. As the player travels through time they’ll be tasked with hunting down zombies, robots, monsters, dinosaurs and more to bring home their trophy.

In addition to the campaign mode, Time Carnage features a variety of challenge modes which, upon completion, will unlock a selection of cheats to vary up the experience significantly. From tipping the tide in your favour to making things a bit wacky, Time Carnage offers a reason to return after that T-Rex pelt is adorning your wall.

Wales Interactive have been experimenting with VR development for some time, with their debut release, Infinity Runner, launching back in 2014 for Oculus Rift development kits. Time Carnage is the third VR title from the developer, following last year’s well received Don’t Knock Twice, which also saw a physical retail release via Perp Games.

Time Carnage is due to come to retail for Playstation VR on April 6th 2018, and then will be released digitally four days later on the 10th.

“We are proud to be bringing our second Wales Interactive title to market, in Time Carnage.” Declared Managing Director of Perp Games, Rob Edwards. “The team have a lot of exciting things going on and it is great to have such a close relationship.  With our retail experience, with their product quality, we have high hopes for our partnership.”

Dai Banner, Edwards’ opposite number at Wales Interactive added: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside Perp Games once again, this time on our first VR-exclusive title. In Time Carnage, we set out to create a challenging survival shooter with a panic-inducing game mechanic. The team had a lot of fun developing this for PlayStation VR and now we look forward to the digital and retail launch this April.”

PlayStation VR Retail Release of Don’t Knock Twice Comes to North America

PlayStation VR is the one virtual reality (VR) headset that gets physical retail releases. Last October Wales Interactive brought horror title Don’t Knock Twice to stores in the UK, today it’s the turn of North America thanks to publisher Perp Games.

Supporting PlayStation 4 with optimisations for PlayStation VR, Don’t Knock Twice is based on the 2017 movie of the same name, a psychological horror based on a urban legend about a vengeful, demonic witch, who can be summoned by knocking twice on a old derelict house. For the videogame, players are cast as a guilt-ridden mother who must save her estranged daughter. They find themselves inside a grand manor house which must be explored as they search for her.

“The horror genre includes some of the most riveting videogames out there,” said Mickey Torode, director of publishing at Perp Games in a statement. “Fear and atmosphere really suck players into the gaming experience, and VR creates another method of really captivating and involving players. We look forward to bringing more immersive VR experiences like Don’t Knock Twice to the PlayStation platform.”

VRFocus reviewed the HTC Vive version of Don’t Knock Twice, saying: ” it provides one of the scariest, heart thumping VR experiences out there, with a beautifully designed mansion to explore – especially when you get to free-roam.”

Don’t Knock Twice is available for PlayStation 4, including support for PlayStation VR for $39.99 USD at various North American retailers.

Wales Interactive will soon release its next VR project across multiple head-mounted displays (HMDs). Revealed last year, Time Carnage is billed as a ‘frantic VR survival wave shooter’, wherein players travel through time and wreak havoc through worlds swarming with dinosaurs, monsters, robots and zombies. They can customise their loadout from a total of 25 different weapons, including guns, flamethrowers and time-stopping grenades. The title will launch for PlayStation VR on 16th March 2018. This will be followed by a Steam release with both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift compatibility on 16th April 2018.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Wales Interactive, reporting back with the latest news and announcements from the studio.

Wales Interactive’s reveal of the forthcoming Time Carnage for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift was accompanied by a release date that is surprisingly soon. In order to get you prepared for the carnage that lies in wait, the developer has released a huge selection of screenshots from the title.

Time Carnage will be Wales Interactive’s third foray into virtual reality (VR) videogames. Debuting in the medium in 2014, Infinity Runner was compatible with Oculus Rift development kits. Last year saw Don’t Knock Twice arrive on PlayStation VR and PC-based VR platforms, and also marked the beginning of the developer’s retail relationship with Perp Games. Time Carnage will be the next title delivered to consumers through this partnership.

In Time Carnage, players enter the role of a trophy hunter as they travel through time and wreak havoc in worlds swarming with zombies, monsters, robots and dinosaurs. Armed with an arsenal of over 25 spine-shattering guns, flamethrowers and time-stopping detonators, it’s time for the carnage to begin.

As players make their way through the videogame’s 16-tier campaign they’ll unlock weaponry ranging from the AM Rifle and double barrel Thump-Gun to the SOTA precision laser bow. As selection of additional gameplay modes, including Custom Arcade Mode, allow players to expand and upgrade their arsenal as they fight their way through post-apocalyptic worlds, prehistoric jungles and medieval ice lands.

Your rampage through time continues with a variety of challenge modes including Double Up Zombie, Russian Dolls, Pieminister and Mail Escort. Time Carnage features over 20 unique challenges to unlock a selection of cheats which greatly alter the way the videogame plays.

Wreak Havoc through the Ages as Time Carnage Heads to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift & HTC Vive

After the company’s 2014 debut with Infinity Runner, Wales Interactive has been making waves in virtual reality (VR). Last year’s Don’t Knock Twice was well received by many, and now the developer has revealed its next title, Time Carnage, will be heading to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive next month.

Time Carnage screenshot

Time Carnage is billed as a ‘frantic VR survival wave shooter’, wherein players travel through time and wreak havoc through worlds swarming with dinosaurs, monsters, robots and zombies. Players can choose their loadout from 25 different weapons, including guns, flamethrowers and time-stopping grenades, as they are tasked with swapping out active guns on the fly to get ahead of the enemy swarms. A timed-reload system and Time Paradox ability might well give you an additional advantage.

The videogame will feature a 16-tier Campaign in addition to a Custom Arcade Mode complete with perks, challenges and mystery items. Additional gameplay modes include Double Up Zombie, Russian Dolls, Pieminister and Mail Escort, however details of what these entail are still under wraps, as well as over 20 unique challenges to unlock weird, wonderful and downright bizarre cheats for your VR shooter entertainment.

In an unusual turn of events, the PlayStation VR edition of Time Carnage is currently expected to launch first, including a physical retail edition courtesy of Perp Games. Available to pre-order now via Play Asia and Amazon, Time Carnage will launch for PlayStation VR on 16th March 2018. This will be followed by a Steam release with both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift compatibility on 16th April 2018.

Perp Games has seen success with the PlayStation VR retail catalogue, including titles such as Radial-G: Racing Revolved, VR Karts and a double pack of nDreams’ The Assembly and Perfect, in addition to the previously mentioned Don’t Knock Twice from Wales Interactive. Breaking from tradition however, it appears that Time Carnage will launch at retail for PlayStation VR day-and-date with its digital package via the PlayStation Store. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Time Carnage and other forthcoming VR titles from Wales Interactive and Perp Games.

Boxed Editions of Radial-G and VR Karts Coming to North America

While console sales still heavily rely on physical sales as well as digital, PC owners are much more used to buying their videogames online through platforms like Steam. So when virtual reality (VR) headsets arrived that digital trend continued. The only headset to offer physical copies is PlayStation VR, and today two VR racers are available to purchase at retail locations across North America, Radial-G: Racing Revolved and VR Karts.

Radial-G is the creation of British studio Tammeka Games, arriving on Oculus Rift first then followed by HTC Vive the same year. It’s taken a little longer to come to PlayStation VR, having only just launched on the US PlayStation Store last month and the EU store in September. EU retailers got physical copies that same month and now its the turn of North America.

The title is a futuristic racer that offers both single-player and multiplayer modes, testing players’ reaction times with its twists, jumps, splits and inverted racing on tubular anti-gravity tracks. To add to the mayhem players are equipped with an assortment of weapons to get that edge over opponents. Radial-G: Racing Revolved will retail for $39.99.

In an email to VRFocus, Tameka Games’ Sam Watts shared his excitement about the launch: “Many things are unpredictable in games development and the age old statement ‘Coming Soon(TM)’ is always undefined but this final piece of the anti-gravity racing puzzle finally comes together with the US and Canadian territories release of the game in a boxed form. Having been available for a number of weeks on the PlayStation Store digitally, it’s great to see high street retail store PS VR sections expanding with more titles available. As a little indie dev team punching above their weight since the re-inception of VR in 2013, getting a physical product on shelves is a big, costly task and we’re grateful to be working with Perpetual to enable us to do so. Once again, much respect to Shuhei Yoshida for turning our virtual dream into physical reality!”

PlayStation VR owners after a racer that’s a bit more down to earth then there’s VR Karts. Another VR title that originally debuted in 2016, VR Karts is the work of Viewpoint Games. A family-friendly kart racing videogame, players can customise their karts, race through deserts, jungles, castles and more, in the light of day or at night, and against up to six players online. VR Karts will retail for $29.99.

Both these launches are the work of Perp Games, the publishing arm of Perpetual Europe. “Game developers are just getting started with unlocking the true potential in virtual reality gaming,” said Mickey Torode, director of publishing at Perpetual. “We are looking forward to continue working with these amazing developers on bringing titles like these and many others to players pining for deeper, more complex VR content to experience.”

Perp Games Reveal PlayStation VR Double Pack

Perp Games and nDreams are set to launch a double pack of PlayStation VR titles this month, with The Assembly and Perfect coming together at retail. These two very different experiences are designed specifically to take advantage of the immersion offered by the virtual reality (VR) medium, and both support either PlayStation Move motion controllers or the DualShock 4 control pad.

The Assembly, a first-person interactive story, casts players as two individuals on a path to discover the truth behind a morally challenging organisation. Players will face a variety of puzzles as they investigate the Assembly’s secret bunker, making tough decisions that could save lives or lead to catastrophe. The Assembly can also be played in full on a traditional TV, without the use of a PlayStation VR.

VRFocus delivered a review of The Assembly upon its PC launch last year, stating: “The Assembly is a very enjoyable experience within its genre, but is greater perceived as a learning tool for future developments. There are a lot of design decisions that have been made purely to cultivate the immersive nature of VR and are hugely successful in that regard, while significantly less successful when played on a traditional monitor; a trait that will offer other developers lessons on how to capitalise on the strengths of VR.”

nDreams’ next PlayStation VR title, Perfect, is a very different experience. Players can visit three interactive destinations – a sun-drenched beach, dramatic mountains and the spectacular northern lights.

Perfect - Mountain Day“We’re delighted to be partnering with Perp to bring two of our VR titles to boxed retail as increasingly more gamers take the plunge into the world of VR,” said David Corless, VP of Publishing at nDreams. “Both titles have endured as great PSVR experiences – The Assembly as a full game designed to VR’s strengths, and Perfect as a terrific way to show off your newly purchased headset.”

Perp Games, on the back of a successful retail launch for Tammeka’s Radial-G: Racing Revolved, will bring nDreams’ VR Double Pack to retail stores from 24th November 2017. The collection includes The Assembly on Blu-ray disc, and Perfect as a download voucher that can be redeemed through the PlayStation Store.

nDreams has subsequently launched Paw Print Games’ Bloody Zombies for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and will soon be releasing a new VR-exclusive title, Shooty Fruity. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR titles from nDreams.

Don’t Knock Twice Retail Edition Delayed

Wales Interactive’s Don’t Knock Twice is about to come knocking for a second time, as Perp Games has signed the title for a physical boxed edition. The PlayStation 4 release, compatible with PlayStation VR, has suffered a minor delay but is now set to arrive this month.

Don't Knock Twice Screenshot 05A little known videogame publisher, Perp Games has signed numerous virtual reality (VR) titles in recent months, including VR Karts and Radial-G: Racing Revolved, both of which have received boxed retail editions. Don’t Knock Twice is the latest title joining that line-up, with the physical PlayStation 4 version set to be priced at £19.99 GBP.

Don’t Knock Twice is a VR horror experience, in which players explore a grand manor house environment. Players can interact with almost every object in the videogame as they attempt to find and save their daughter.

VRFocus delivered a review of Don’t Knock Twice upon its initial digital release, stating: “On the one side it provides one of the scariest, heart thumping VR experiences out there, with a beautifully designed mansion to explore – especially when you get to free-roam. On the flip side there are points where it feels like a battle, trying to achieve something relatively simple but isn’t.”

Don't Knock Twice screenshot 11For those looking to dive into a unique but somewhat confused horror experience this Halloween, Don’t Knock Twice will arrive at retail stores throughout the UK on 13th October 2017, and can be pre-ordered via Amazon now. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR efforts from both Wales Interactive and Perp Games.

Don’t Knock Twice On PlayStation 4 Heads To Retail This Month

PlayStation 4 owners are already able, digitally, to join their PC compatriots in experiencing horror title Don’t Knock Twice. Soon they’ll be able to do so, with or without a PlayStation VR head-mounted display (HMD), via retail purchase.

The videogame developed Wales Interactive is a tie-in to the movie of the same name which is based, albeit loosely, on a Welsh urban legend about a demon that uses a human servant to capture children, being summoned when they knock twice on the witch’s door. Wales Interactive have teamed up with publishers Perp Games (VR Karts, Radial-G) to distribute copies of Don’t Knock Twice to retail from September 29th 2017. This will be in markets across Europe, the USA and also Australia.

Don't Knock Twice screenshot 10“Working with such a talented bunch as Wales Interactive, is a great privilege for us. Don’t Knock Twice is one scary game and we think horror fans will love this experience, especially in VR.” Commented Perp Games Managing Director Rob Edwards in a press release.

VRFocus recently reviewed the PC version on HTC Vive, declaring that it “doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to building the blood curdling atmosphere straight from the off”. We also spoke to Wales Interactive at Gamescom where the developers went into the story behind the videogame. You can watch that here.

There’s also an opportunity at the moment for you to win a code for the game on PSVR, PC or Xbox One thanks to a competition being held elsewhere on the website.
