The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows VR Releases Of The Week 04/08/18

The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows VR Releases Of The Week 04/08/18

Skyrim VR is still on the minds of most PC VR gamers, and that’s for good reason. Modders have been hard at work adding features and tweaking aspects of the VR version to get it running better and more feature-rich than ever. But if you want a break from slaying dragons, consider checking out one of these.

If you missed last week’s releases they’re here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

V-Racer Hoverbike, from VertexBreakers

Price: $19.99 (Rift and Vive)

PSVR owners have been banking around corners and blasting away at high-speeds on futuristic racetracks with WipEout VR for a few weeks now, so it’s appropriate then that V-Racer Hoverbike is hitting Early Access on Steam right about now. It has a similar feel, although notably not as robust.

Time Carnage, from Wales Interactive

Price: $19.99 (Currently Discounted for Rift, Vive, and Windows)

Time Carnage is another uninspired wave shooter that does nothing to move the genre forward or offer up a creative spin on existing tropes. You point, you shoot, you rinse, and you repeat. We’d recommend passing on this one.

RoboHeist VR, from Blob Lab

Price: $12.99 (Currently Discounted for Vive)

Tired of waiting on Budget Cuts to release next month, finally, after all this time? Then RoboHeist VR is here to tide you over. It’s got a similar stealth-focused premise, featuring an assortment of other deadly robots, and is sure to get you up and moving around to stay hidden from their prying electronic eyes.

Island Time, from Flight School Studios
Price: $15.99 (Rift, Vive)

Island Time is a charming little survival game in which you find yourself on a stranded patch of land trying to eat enough food to stay alive. You combine items to make tools that make it easier to catch fish and steal coconuts. It’s a pretty intriguing concept, though the game is sadly a little short on content.

Crisis on the Planet of the Apes VR, from FoxNext
Price: $14.99 (Rift, Vive)

Everyone’s favorite monkeys get their own VR game, tying into the recent film trilogy. Crisis is a short experience in which you play as one of the intelligent apes, captured and being tested on in a human facility. It’s your task to escape, which will involve clambering up pipes and gunning down enemies. It’s a little short and repetitive, but a fair amount of fun.

The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 03/25/18

The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 03/25/18

This is a bit of a slow week for PC VR. If you have a Vive then the biggest release of the week is something you’ve probably been playing for months now, but it’s a big one for Rift owners. A VR space shooter is of note as well, making its Steam debut finally. The other games are solid, but not super noteworthy.

LA Noire: The VR Case Files, from Rockstar Games

Price: $29.99 (Rift release, Vive version released last year)

LA Noire VR was our Vive Game of the Year in 2017, so it’s a big deal that it’s already making its way over to the Rift officially on Oculus Home. You take on the role of Cole Phelps, a detective in 1940s Los Angeles, CA and have free reign to drive around and explore the entire city.

Here’s our full review of the Vive version, but it does seem like the Rift release is having some bugs.

End Space, from Orange Bridge Studios

Price: $19.99 (Currently Discounted)

End Space is the VR space shooter for everyone. I say that not only because it’s an accessible and fun game, but also because if you own a VR headset of any kind then you can probably play it. After hitting Gear VR it’s since released on PSVR, Rift, and now Vive and Windows VR via Steam. It’s not overly complex, but if you miss the days of straight up singleplayer space shooters, then grab this one for sure.

NeverBound, from Enthusiast Games

Price: $19.99

NeverBound is an Early Access release, but it has some real potential. It’s a gravity-defying shooter with high-flying combat and some really challenging puzzles sprinkled throughout. Future update plans include co-op, non-VR support, and PvP. This is definitely one to watch.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 03/25/18

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 03/25/18

This week doesn’t have a ton of new releases, but that’s okay. You know why? Because perhaps the very best VR racing game thus far just got released and it’s an exclusive. Every PSVR owner needs to experience this one.

If you missed last week’s releases, you can see those here. UploadVR also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

WipEout Omega Collection VR, from Sony Interactive Entertainment

Price: $39.99 (VR Support is a free update)

I shouldn’t have to sell you on this. It’s WipEout, the legendary sci-fi racing series from Sony, but in VR. Since it’s the WipEout Omega Collection has a ton of tracks, lots of ships, and plenty of content. Online multiplayer. Cross-play between VR and non-VR. If you have a PSVR then you should be playing this game.

Preta: Vendetta Rising, from Illion Corp.

Price: $19.99

Preta: Vendetta Rising is a third-person VR “MMO” in which you control fantasy characters and lead them against an army of bad guys. VR support doesn’t add much to this type of game, but it’s at least a unique experience for PSVR. It’s a port of a PC VR title from last year.

Khalid Young Dumb & Broke VR, from Sony Music Entertainment

Price: Free

This VR experience puts viewers in the center of an immersive representation of one of Khalid’s iconic tracks. Through it all you’ll explore “cityscapes, the far reaches of the cosmos and high school football fields” like never before. It’s free, but only recommended for existing fans.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 03/04/18

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 03/04/18

The biggest VR game of the week for PSVR fans is a bit of a dud, but at least there are two other promising titles to look at instead if they tickle your fancy.

If you missed last week’s releases they’re here. UploadVR also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

Bravo Team, from Supermassive Games

Price: $39.99

Despite the hopes and dreams of PSVR owners around the world, Bravo Team was not the ultimate military shooter many fans were hoping for. It’s actually just a cover-based wave shooter without any real locomotion methods at all. Co-op is okay, but not worth the price tag.

VRFC Virtual Reality Football Club, from Cherry Pop Games

Price: $19.99 (Currently Discounted)

VRFC came a bit out of nowhere this week offering up a realistic-leaning soccer (or football for some of you) experience on PSVR. The movement controls take some getting used to but this may be the first fully-realized real life sport we’ve see in VR.

Rangi, from Digigo

Price: $9.99

If atmospheric, exploration-focused puzzles are you jam, then Rangi could be for you. You get to fly too, so there’s that. It’s a very pretty game.

The Biggest Rift, Vive, And Windows Releases Of The Week 25/02/18

The Biggest Rift, Vive, And Windows Releases Of The Week 25/02/18

This week on the PC VR side of things there’s a good variety of things, highlighted by one major VR game release that’s finally barreling out of Early Access at the full-speed of a galloping raptor.

Island 359, from CloudGate Studios

Price: $24.99 (Currently Discounted)

Island 359 is finally out of Early Access after a year and a half of iteration and extended development and the final result is a great one. This is one of the most robust and intense experiences anyone can have in a VR headset right now with a massive six-square mile island to explore.

The Way of Kings: Escape the Shattered Plains, from Arcturus Studios

Price: $10.99

The Stormlight Archive is one of the most successful and popular modern fantasy book series and the third installment, Oathbringer, just recently released. This experience is based off of the debut novel, The Way of Kings, and lets you experience the wonder of Brandon Sanderson’s thrilling world. Maybe we can get Mistborn VR next!

Cloudborn, from Logtown Studios

Price: $14.99 (Currently Discounted)

Here’s another game leaving Early Access this week after debuting back in September. In Cloudborn the developers have created a “momentum” based movement system and task players with exploring a massive, richly detailed world to uncover the remnants of a lost civilization.

Rise of Insanity, from Red Limb Studio

Price: $9.99 (Currently Discounted)

I’d wager that a new VR horror game of some kind probably releases every week. I haven’t done the research on that, but it seems true. Rise of Insanity isn’t VR-exclusive, but supports both Rift and Vive for seated gamepad or keyboard gameplay. It’s a beautiful and haunting game about the human mind.

It’s a great week to be a PSVR owner! Two wonderful games hit Sony’s headset this week and you should definitely be interested in picking up both of them.

Moss, from Polyarc
Price: $29.99

Let’s be honest, this is probably the game you’re here for. Moss is an enchanting VR adventure played from a third-person view. You guide Quill, a young mouse, on a huge adventure, solving puzzles and besting baddies with your sword. Moss is, quite simply, a delight to play and a joy to experience inside VR. Get it.

Suit up and shoot up in this VR-infused tribute to classic bullet hell games. Take on four levels in which you must shoot down enemies and make sure to dodge incoming waves of bullets. The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 02/18/18

The Biggest Rift, Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 02/18/18

A pretty good selection of content for Rift owners this week! Though it’s a little sparse elsewhere for other headsets.

Brass Tactics, from Hidden Path Entertainment
Price: $39.99 (Rift)

A VR real-time strategy game from the team that brought you Defense Grid 2 VR (and Age of Empires before that). Brass Tactics offers tabletop battles come to life in tactical multiplayer games as well as a full single-player campaign. This is the VR RTS you’ve been waiting for since you got your Rift.

Here’s our full review.

Operation Apex, from Curiscope
Price: $19.99 (Now on Rift)

Curiscope’s underwater educational adventure is the next Vive Studios project to pop up on the Oculus Rift. Journey deep under the ocean to explore the ecosystem that thrives there and investigate some strange upsets to the food chain. This is a smart app that teaches you through action and well worth checking out.

Conquer, from Wan studio
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

Conquer is a visually-striking action game in which you take sword in hand and fight off mythical beasts. It’s one of those games that has seemingly appeared from thin air with it’s impressive presentation, though we can’t speak to if its gameplay holds up. Still, a sight for sore eyes to be sure.

Reality Decks, from Philip Mackenzie
Price: $19.99 (Rift)

A comprehensive DJ suite for an aspiring DJ master. This app teaches you the basics of spinning tracks without the need for expensive decks and then lets you create your own mixes with included songs or your own library. Designed for both professional and casual use.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 02/18/18

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 02/18/18

One big release saves the day this week; there’s only two releases all-told but Apex Construct is the one many of us have been waiting for.

Apex Construct, from Fast Travel Games
Price: $29.99

This is this week’s biggest release by far. Apex Construct is a full VR adventure in which players take a bow in hand and explore an expansive world in which humanity has vanished and only a war between two AI constructs remains. With around five hours of gameplay and a full story, Apex Construct is well worth checking out, though it’s not without its issues.

Here’s our full review.

Run Dorothy Run, from Virtro Entertainment
Price: $29.99

An endless runner with a familiar theme. Journey through Oz like never before, traveling to the Emerald City, Wicked Witch’s castle, and beyond as you dodge obstacles and maybe (just maybe) dance to the electro-swing soundtrack. Maybe not the most amazing use of VR but a strange enough idea to raise an eyebrow.
