Next month Vertigo Games will release The Damned DLC on Oculus Quest for $4.99/€4.99 which is set before Dead Man. For this outing, you’re tasked with reactivating the generators of a massive Arizonan hydroelectric dam. Arizona Sunshine first arrived for PC VR back in 2016, remaining a popular shooter for most of that time. Vertigo Games’ next original title After the Fall was unveiled last year but it has been quite some time since new details were released, a release slated for 2020.

The next two free updates will be for the multiplayer Horde mode, adding the Old Mine level in January and the Undead Valley level in February.

The final two will be the big DLC drops, Dead Man and The Damned. Both will be paid DLC but they will support cross-buy on the Oculus platform. so if you’ve already got the Oculus Rift version of the DLC then no need to pay again. “We are very proud of what our team has accomplished from a technical perspective to bring Arizona Sunshine over to the Quest platform in a way that does the game and our new players on Quest justice,” says Vertigo Games Studio Director Richard Stitselaar. “We have pushed ourselves and the boundaries of VR over the past years and will continue to do so in 2020, with additional Arizona Sunshine content making its way to Oculus Quest. It will be a very exciting year for Vertigo Games with a lot to look forward to, including our all-new VR action FPS After the Fall.”

‘Arizona Sunshine’ Dead Man DLC for PSVR Pushed Back to July

Arizona Sunshine (2016), the room-scale zombie shooter adventure, already got its first campaign DLC on Oculus Rift, Vive & Windows “Mixed Reality” VR headsets on May 24th, dubbed ‘Dead Man’ DLC. The single mission campaign, which was previously targeting a June release on PSVR, is now pushed back to July.

Update (06/20/18): Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive recently released word via a Facebook post that Arizona Sunshine’s Dead Man DLC for PSVR is now due for a July launch. The DLC, which is a prequel to the series, will be on offer for $2.50. The studios said the delay is due to an unspecified “technical challenge,” that has since been solved.

The original article detailing Dead Man DLC follows below:

Original article (05/04/18): Dropping you in a zombie-infested US missile base, you’re tasked with containing the fresh zombie outbreak. Assuming the role of Dockson, a US Army Special Forces corporal, your mission is to launch a nuclear-warhead loaded missile to clear the base, and of course dispatch all of the zombies between you and the launch silo.

Arizona Sunshine: Dead Man DLC is already on Steam, and will be available for $2.50.

The single mission campaign takes place before the events of Arizona Sunshine. Just like its predecessor, it boasts both single player and online co-op for up to two players.

To boot, there are also three new weapons: a fully automatic submachine gun, a two-handed shotgun and a tactical handgun. Dead Man DLC features various difficulty levels including Apocalyptic Mode, something Vertigo Games says is “insane.”

Dead Man DLC also includes new masks and “a couple of light customization options” as well. Six new achievements will also be available for the rabid completionists out there.

Arizona Sunshine Dead Man DLC PlayStation VR Release Pushed Back to July

Arizona Sunshine has become incredibly popular, first launching on PC virtual reality (VR) platforms before making its way to the PlayStation VR. Fans were therefore excited to hear that there would be story DLC, though it turned out that PlayStation VR users would have to wait a while for it – and now it seems they will need to wait even longer.

The Arizona Sunshine – Dead Man DLC came out on PC-based VR platforms such as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in May, with publisher Vertigo Games initially announced that the DLC would be coming to PlayStation VR in June.

That date has now been pushed back to July 2018, and a more precise date has not been confirmed. The reason for the delay was indicated to be some sort of technical limitation or issue, with Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive saying: “We’d like to apologize to those disappointed by the launch being pushed out of June. We can’t wait for you to play the prequel mission, but bringing it to PS VR – at the desired quality – is taking a little longer than foreseen due to a technical challenge now solved.”

Arizona Sunshine – Dead Man DLC acts as a prequel to the story of Arizona Sunshine. Set on a Us missile base in the early stages of the zombie apocalypse, the player takes the role of a US Army Special Forces corporal, who is trying to contain the zombie outbreak with nuclear weaponry even as his bases comes under attack from the walking dead.

The DLC will feature online co-op for up to two players and a range of difficulty settings, including an Apocalyptic Mode for the truly hard-core players. There are also some new trophies and achievements to grab.

The Future Of A Zombie Apocalypse, Vertigo Games On Arizona Sunshine’s DLC

Arizona Sunshine has proved to be a popular title for those searching for a fun virtual reality (VR) experience involving zombies and shooting, combining tight gameplay mechanics and excellent graphics. John Coleman of developer Vertigo Games talks about the new Dead Man DLC and how VR accessories can change the state of play.

John Coleman is the Director of Business Development at Vertigo Games and he spoke to Nina about the development of Arizona Sunshine, what’s coming up in the latest DLC and what fans can expect in the future.

Vertigo Games is very pleased with how successful Arizona Sunshine has been, which is one reason why the company is continuing to support the title with the additional content in the form of DLC. The Dead Man DLC adds a prequel story, which covers the initial response to the zombie outbreak.

The Dead Man DLC has the player trying to make their way into a military base with the goal of launch missiles that might stand a chance of containing the situation. The events take place when there is still an active fight going on against the zombies, and before humanity is reduced to just hiding and struggling to survive.

Coleman says that the DLC allows for players to get more narrative out of the story, and give wider context for the events that take place in the main campaign s well as giving players a different style of gameplay. Dead Man DLC also introduced four-player co-operative gameplay, where the main campaign was limited to two-player co-op.

Also introduced was the PP Gun, which sports a HTC Vive tracker and comes equipped with haptic feedback and is one of the accessories that Vertigo Games are adding support for in Arizona Sunshine.
