Going live only a few days ago, the new friends and trading features have been long awaited additions to the popular augmented reality (AR) videogame. Offering players new ways to interact with each other and bringing the title closer to its mainline entry counterparts on other systems. When added as friends, which is done by exchanging friend-codes, trainers can then visit PokéStops to collect gifts and then send them to each other, with the chance of finding an egg when opened.

Confirming the news on Twitter, the official Pokémon GO account revealed that reports of Alolan Pokémon hatching from eggs that were gifted by another trainer were need correct. The image posted with the news features Alolan Meowth, Sandshrew and Vulpiz which have a chance to hatch from 7km eggs via the trading feature.
