Vuzix Announce Appointment of Two New Vice Presidents

Vuzix have become one of the most recognised names in the field of Enterprise-focussed augmented reality (AR) technology. In particular, the company is known for its line of AR smartglasses for consumer and enterprise markets. The company has now announced that it has appointed Zach Stone as its new Vice President of Operations and Shane Porzio as Vice President of Engineering.

Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Engineering are both new positions within the company, with the appointments of Stone and Porzio effective from 13th June, 2018.

Zach Stone has worked with Vuzix for almost two years and has over ten years of experience in the areas of manufacturing, quality control, supply chain management and operations. He previously worked with United Technologies Corporation.

Shane Porzio has been with Vuzix for over ten years and has 13 years of experience in system architecture, software design and hardware design. He previously worked at Lockheed Martin as a hardware engineer and will be bringing this wealth of experience to his new position in Vuzix.

Vuzix recently announced it was partnering with Qualcomm to create a new range of AR smartglasses by using Qualcomm’s newly released Snapdragon XR1 platform, which has been specifically engineered for use with immersive technology wearables such as AR smartglasses.

The company has also announced a new developer centre to assist partners and customers in developing applications for the Vuzix Blade series of smartglasses.
