GT Sport Discounted to £10.85/$13.99

Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo is one of the most popular racing videogame franchises of all time, and the PlayStation 4 edition of the series, GT Sport, proved to be no different. Now however, 19 months after its debut, the videogame is available to purchase for some fantastically reduced prices, including one retailer offering more than a 75 percent discount on the suggested retail price (SRP).

Often considered the definitive motor racing experience, Gran Turismo is back on PlayStation 4, offering players instant access to the fastest, most desirable driving machines on the planet. More than 174 of the best cars in the world are available in GT Sport, from Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicles and exclusive prototypes to the best in real world motoring. All cars have been built from the ground up to deliver the most realistic handling cars ever available in a Gran Turismo videogame, and every vehicle has been digitally recreated in exhaustive detail, from the internal structure of the headlights to the stitching of the seats.

Building on the popularity of the numerous racetracks featured in previous Gran Turismo titles, including the Nürburgring Nordschleife (North Loop), a number of tracks featured in GT Sport appear in the series for the first time. These include the “Tokyo Expressway” and the half-mile oval dubbed the “Northern Isle Speedway.” A total of 17 locations with over 40 courses feature in GT Sport, taking drivers everywhere from the Japanese metropolis to the Mexican-American border.

Of course, the most important aspect of GT Sport for readers of VRFocus is the PlayStation VR compatibility, originally revealed way back in 2015. The VR Tour Mode pits players head-to-head in online races, and the post-launch addition of VR Time Trials offers an enjoyable – if less than comprehensive – VR bonus to the core GT Sport videogame.

GT Sport is currently available in physical retail packaging for £10.85 GBP / $13.99 USD via Play Asia, while Amazon is also offering the title at a discounted price of £19.37. For comparison sake, UK retailer GAME is currently listing the title at £44.99.

The PlayStation VR software catalogue is rapidly increasing with both indie releases and AAA blockbusters such as GT Sport, with some new titles expected to be announced at next month’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Los Angeles. VRFocus will of course keep you updated with all the latest details.
