Rise of the Tomb Raider Blood Ties now Available for Oculus Rift & HTC Vive

Last year as part of Square Enix’s anniversary celebrations for Tomb Raider, the studio released a story chapter that was compatible with PlayStation VR. Now Oculus Rift and HTC Vive have been given support, with the Blood Ties DLC now available through Steam.

Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Nixxes Software made the joint announcement, enabling more headset owners to delve into single-player story chapter to unlock the mysteries of Croft Manor. As part of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year CelebrationBlood Ties involves Lara having to explore the estate to find the hidden history that she is the rightful heir, after her uncle contests ownership of the family Manor. If she doesn’t she’ll lose her birthright and father’s secrets forever.

The virtual reality (VR) compatible chapter features over an hour of new story for fans looking to learn and understand more about this fearless adventurer.

If you already own Rise of the Tomb Raider then all you’ll need is the Season Pass which retails for £19.99 GBP to download Blood Ties. Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration retails for £39.99 and it includes the Season Pass as well, so you can download the DLC at no extra cost right away.

In addition to the VR content Season pass holders also receive all of the new content featured in the 20 Year Celebration edition including: Co-op Endurance gameplay, “Extreme Survivor” difficulty for the main campaign, 20 Year Celebration outfit and gun, 5 classic Lara skins, and all previously released Downloadable Content such as “Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch,” “Cold Darkness Awakened,” 12 outfits, seven weapons, multiple Expedition Card packs, and more.

Since its release in 2016 Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration has sold more than 7 million units and received over 100 awards and nominations and is available for the PlayStation4, PlayStation4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X and PC, with  Blood Ties expanding that support to PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.
