Step into Gran Turismo Sport with GT Academy Winner Matt Simmons

There’s less than a week to go until Polophony Digital release the next title in the Gran Turismo franchise, Gran Turismo Sport, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation VR on 17th October in North America and 18th for Europe. Racing fans are naturally looking forward to the release and just to keep that excitement going Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has released a new trailer.

To give the video a different flavour to every other Gran Turismo Sport trailer, 2015 Australian GT Academy Winner Matt Simmons has been brought in to narrate and star. Having won the GT Academy Simmons embarked on his Driver Development Programme (DDP) with NISMO and as a result obtained his International C Race Licence. During 2016 he raced in the Blancpain Endurance Series with Nissan GT Academy Team RJN in the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.

The trailer’s all about spouting the virtues of 4K resolution and HDR visuals to make Gran Turismo Sport the best looking racer yet. Obviously for that truly immersive racing experience you need virtual reality (VR) and PlayStation VR, putting you directly in the driving seat. As previously reported Gran Turismo Sport will have partial VR compatibility offering a 1 vs 1 mode rather than the entire videogame.
