Google Unveils AR Stickers for Pixel 2

Google’s currently holding its anticipated Pixel 2 event, with the new smartphone taking center stage alongside several other hardware additions. As part of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL announcement Google has obviously detailed some of the devices features which include an augmented reality-optimised camera for a new function called AR Stickers.

With AR Stickers users will be able to add all sorts of interesting 3D characters and creatures to their photos as they’re taking them. And to make the feature more unique AR Stickers will include plenty of branded content, so if you’re a fan of Netfilx’s Stranger Things, Saturday Night Live or Star Wars: The Last Jedi, there’s going to be a immersive AR Sticker for you.

This is all powered by Google’s ARCore, its AR development software that was originally announced back in August. Another feature of AR Stickers are their ability to interact with each other and the world around them to further enhance the experience.

Further sticker packs will be released in the future around the changing seasons, holidays and big pop culture moments.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are available for pre-order today starting at $649 USD in the US. Both products are also available in Australia, Canada, Germany, India and U.K.
