Upcoming PlayStation VR Titles To Be Showcased at ChinaJoy

ChinaJoy is one of the biggest entertainment and videogaming events in China. This year’s event will be the 15th Year the event has been held. Several big titles will be unveiled during the course of the event, including several new PlayStation VR titles that are said to be heading to the West.

Announced on the PlayStation blog are four upcoming PlayStation VR titles that will soon be available to players in the US and Europe as well as Asia. The first is a title that has been covered before on VRFocus, stealth-based horror Stifled. In Stifled, the player is thrust into a dark, oppressive environment where the only way to see is the make noise. The problem with that, of course, is that making noise also alerts enemies lurking in the darkness to your presence.

Chinese developer Haymaker are working on a fantasy combat title called The Walker, where the player takes on the role of a wandering warrior who must learn to master swordsmanship and magic to defeat the demons who are infesting historical Shanghai.

Another Chinese developer, VIVA Games are creating an action-thriller title called Kill X, where players find themselves on a secret island occupied by a shadowy organisation who are conducting horrific experiments on human captives to discover the secret of immortality. Players will need to solve puzzles and master various different weapons to discover the secrets hidden on the island.

Fantasy-based real-time strategy title Legion Commander will also be showcased by developer ChangYou Games. Players can take command of one of three races of fantasy races; elves, orcs or humans and master the various attributes of their forces in order to defeat the opposition, using special cards to power up your forces or cast area-of-effect spells across the battlefield.

Though not mentioned on the PlayStation blog, there has been word of another PlayStation VR title that will be announced at ChinaJoy, a first-person shooter titled Gene Rain. Said to be an FPS/tactical shooter hybrid in the same vein of Gears of War, it is said to be produced by an unnamed Chinese developer and will have both VR and non-VR modes.

VRFocus will bring you further news on VR announcements at ChinaJoy as they become available.
