Legendary Hunter VR Shoots Onto Steam Early Access Next Month

Just in case you needed one more reason to strap on your head-mounted display (HMD), developer LastnOni is launching the Duck Hunt-inspired Legendary Hunter VR on Steam next month. Luckily, players who simply can’t wait can download and play a free demo right now.

Legendary Hunter VR is the LastnOni’s love letter to NES classic Duck Hunt. In Legendary Hunter VR you hunt down ducks and other animals in a rainforest environment located on a desert island – in virtual reality (VR), of course. During the day, the player will only have to worry about hunting ducks and shooting vicious crows, but when night falls wolves and crocodiles get involved.

The player will be subject to the environments as dynamic weather rolls in, and you ration your ammunition in order to stay prepared when the more vicious creatures that inhabit the desert island decide to show themselves. The aim of the game is to essentially, survive, and survive as long as possible, as you’re accosted by not only the elements but the creatures that inhabit the forest, too.

The game will be compatible with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift HMDs, and will launch on Steam in Early Access next month, though there’s a demo available right now on the videogame’s Steam store page.

The prospect of surviving for several nights in the wilderness sounds promising – when we get to play Legendary Hunter VR, you’ll be able to read all about it on VRFocus.
