See The Latest From Lonn At The Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition

More stylish cyberpunk action arrives next week at the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition.

We’ll have a brand new trailer for Lonn at this year’s show, which kicks off at 9am PT on June 16th. SixSense Studios has been working hard to deliver all-new footage of the anticipated cyberpunk action game that you won’t want to miss.

Lonn VR Showcase

Lonn caught our eye last year as an impressive single-player adventure, driven by physics. The player fights their way through scores of enemies with a sword in hand, but also has VR-centric powers like telekinesis that they can put to good use.

Lonn isn’t the only game we have in store for the show, though. The Upload VR Showcase is your one-stop-shop for a raft of new VR game reveals and trailers. We’ll be getting the latest looks at some of the most anticipated VR games on the way over the next few months.

Here’s a look at what else we’re currently cooking up for next week:

So we’ll see you back here on June 16th. Don’t forget we’ll have a pre-show kicking off at 8:30am PT with more to show!

See The New Trailer For Vertigo Remastered At The Upload VR Showcase

Grab a chair, this might make you dizzy; we have the new trailer for Vertigo Remastered debuting at the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition on June 16th.

That’s right, Zulubo Productions has been toiling away on a full remaster of its debut VR adventure, and we’ve got an exclusive look at how it’s shaping up. Vertigo is a full single-player adventure inspired by games like Half-Life (Zulubo’s Zach Tsiakalis-Brown went to on spend some time at Valve). In the game, you find yourself stranded in a mysterious alien facility, and must fight your way through levels trying to piece together a wider mystery.

Zulubo is also working on a sequel to the original game in Vertigo 2.

Vertigo VR Showcase

So, what exactly is the Upload VR Showcase? Simple! It’s our way to celebrate the great work VR developers do, providing a platform to announce new games, reveal new trailers and much more. We’ve got a heck of a lot of content planned for this year, just some of which is below.

So be back here on June 16th. We’re kicking things off with a pre-show at 8:30am PT before launching into the main event at 9am PT. You won’t want to miss it!

Sony’s PS5 Reveal Event Rescheduled For June 11th At 1PM PT

According to a Twitch ad today someone saw during a livestream, the new date for Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event appeared to have leaked as June 11th. Shortly afterward, Sony confirmed the new date on the official Twitter account. The PS5 reveal is now set for June 11th at 1PM PT. You can watch it at the official website when the time comes.

Previously the PS5 reveal event was set for June 4th, but was delayed in order to allow “more important voices to be heard” as a result of the death of George Floyd and ongoing Black Lives Matter movement. We also delayed our Summer Showcase, which was originally set for today, June 8th. Instead, it will be running next week on June 16th.

We’re really not too sure about what to expect from Sony’s big PS5 reveal event, but other than seeing actual gameplay, the console itself, and getting a feel for what it will be like, there likely isn’t going to be a ton of new information for VR players. Revealing the PSVR 2 at this time is unlikely, as is much discussion of backwards compatibility with the original PSVR, but we can always cross our fingers.

Earlier today we published a round up of topics we think are likely for the PS5 reveal event, you can read those here, and you can leave your comments for what you think will be discussed over on this week’s Community Download.

In the meantime, also check out our rundown on everything we know about the PSVR 2 so far.

Community Download: What Do You Expect From Sony’s PS5 Event?

Community Download is a weekly discussion-focused articles series published (usually) every Monday in which we pose a single, core question to you all, our readers, in the spirit of fostering discussion and debate. For today’s Community Download, we want to know what you’re expecting to see and learn about at Sony’s PS5 event?

Last week we pushed pause on a lot of things, like delaying our Summer Showcase until next week (6/16) and we even decided to skip the Community Download. But we’re back this week with a new topic for everyone to weigh in on: Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event.

We just published our own thoughts on the topic this morning, which you can catch up on here, but now we want to know what you’re thinking about the upcoming event following its delay.

Obviously we should expect a few obvious things like getting to see what the PlayStation 5 actually looks like finally, especially since Sony revealed the controller already. We know a few of the games coming from third party publishers, but for a new game system that’s only a handful of months away we still don’t know what Sony themselves are working on specifically. There should be a couple heavy-hitters revealed along those lines.

But for the VR crowd, it’s a bit of a mystery. Sony remains insistent that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with the original PSVR, so expecting to see news of the PSVR 2 at this stage is probably a longshot, but who knows. Maybe a tease of what’s to come.

What do you think? What are you expecting and/or hoping to see at the PS5 reveal event? Let us know down in the comments below!

Arziona Sunshine Dev To Publish Traffic Jams, Coming To Our VR Showcase

Adorable and deceptively manic VR game Traffic Jams is the latest title to be published by Arizona Sunshine developer, Vertigo Games, and we’ll have a fresh look at it soon.

Vertigo Games will be publishing the title on all major VR platforms later this year. Developed by Little Chicken, Traffic Jams sees players organizing traffic flows in a stylised world, using intuitive hand gestures. Based on the footage we’ve seen so far, the game has a touch of Overcooked-style franticness to it.

TrafficJamsSocialTeaser1

It’s the second game to be published by Vertigo following last year’s excellent A Fisherman’s Tale, which was developed by Innerspace. Vertigo itself is still hard at work on its follow-up to Arizona Sunshine, After The Fall.

But that’s not all; we’ll also have an exclusive look at Traffic Jams at the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition in just under two weeks’ time on June 8th. The Showcase will be revealing a bunch of new games and providing fresh updates on some of your most anticipated titles, like this one. Here’s a look at what else we’ve got coming along this year.

We’ll have more teases leading up to the big show, so check back often!

Yup, Cloudhead Games will be returning to the Showcase with yet more news about its ace rhythm shooter, which mashes Superhot, Beat Saber and John Wick into one joyous explosion. You might remember that the game got its big reveal at our E3 VR Showcase this time last year, and Cloudhead will be bringing the heat to mark the occasion. The team will be going over its 2020 roadmap, with some big plans in-store. We’ll leave the guessing up to you from there.

See An Exclusive Tease Of Area Man Lives At The Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition

Great news for those of you waiting on an update on the next project from the developer of That Dragon, Cancer; we’ll have an exclusive tease of Area Man Lives at the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition on June 8th (final time TBD)!

Yep, developer Numinous Games will make its Showcase debut with a first look at its anticipated VR adventure. In Area Man Lives, you run a radio show in a small town, gradually becoming engrossed in a deep mystery. You’ll chat with characters over the radio as you get to the bottom of some truly strange goings-on. This looks like it could be a real quirky treat.

AREAMANLIVES

The project has some history, of course. It was originally intended as an episodic series for Google’s Daydream platform, but only released its first two episodes before Daydream met its untimely demise. Fortunately, Cyan Ventures — yes, a funding arm of the studio behind Myst — helped resurrect the project as an all-new experience earlier this year. We’re really excited to show you a first look at how it’s shaping up.

Not sure what an Upload VR Showcase is? Simple: they’re video presentations we hold at busy times on the videogame calendar to announce new VR titles and reveal new information about upcoming games and experiences.

Also joining this year’s showcase is Fast Travel Games, Low-Fi, Panther VR, Play Bunker and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. We’ll have plenty more teases leading up to the big day on June 8th, so check back for more soon!

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Joins The Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition

Grab a screwdriver and stock up on supplies; The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is coming to the Upload VR Showcase: Summer Edition on June 8th (final time TBC)!

Developer Skydance Interactive’s breakout hit landed on PC VR headsets back in January and lots of you fell in love with its physics-driven brand of zombie-smashing action. Just a few weeks back the game finally arrived on PSVR too with a rock-solid port. You’ll get no hints from us about what’s coming to this summer’s Showcase, but you’re sure to be pleasantly surprised.

Walking Dead VR Showcase

In case you didn’t know, our Showcases are a little like Nintendo Direct or PlayStation State of Play videos, just for VR! We’ll be announcing a bunch of cool new VR games and showing off new updates for some of your most anticipated titles. This year we’ll also be featuring some apps that go beyond gaming, too.
