Control Flight Sims With Greater Precision Using Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Flight Pack

Thrustmaster is one of the leading companies behind flight stick peripherals, with a catalogue of products for PC and console gamers. Last month it launched the T.16000M, bundling the device with Frontier Developments Elite Dangerous Arena title. Now Thrustmaster has announced the T.16000M FCS Flight Pack which comes bundled with throttle and rudder pedals.

The T.16000M flight stick comes with Thrustmaster’s latest features, including its H.E.A.R.T (HallEffect Accurate Technology) technology, an ambidextrous design for both right-handed and left-handed pilots, 16 action buttons, 4 independent axes, an ergonomic trigger, a multidirectional hat, a wide hand rest and a weighted base.

While the TWCS Throttle comes equipped with S.M.A.R.T technology, consisting of an exclusive slide rails system for smooth and precise throttle movements. The TWCS Throttle offers 5 axes, 14 action buttons, one mini-stick, one toggle rudder, one rotary radio antenna control wheel, and a connector for the TFRP rudder pedals system.

Finishing off the system are the TFRP Rudder Pedals. The rudder employs a system of 4 slide rails for smooth, high-precision motions, as well as a self-centering rudder axis for re-centering. The pedals’ heel-rests are also removable: with them removed, players control the rudder using the ball of their foot, heel on the floor; while with the heel-rests in place, they can rest their entire foot on the pedal.

Thrustmaster has also added a software element to the T.16000M FCS Flight Pack: T.A.R.G.E.T, which stands for Thrustmaster Advanced pRogramming Graphical EdiTor. With it users can combine the pack’s different hardware components so that they are recognized as a single USB device. Each component can be configured according to the needs of the user and/or of the game being played, all via a drag and drop system.

The T.16000M FCS Flight Pack was demoed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) back in June, alongside Elite Dangerous using the Oculus Rift headset. The system will go on sale next month with a suggested retail price of $199.99 USD.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Thrustmaster, reporting back with any further announcements.
