Wild West Shooter The Arcslinger Rides onto PlayStation VR This Week

Originally a Google Daydream View title in 2016, Big Red Button Entertainment then brought The Arcslinger to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in the early part of 2018. Soon it’ll be the turn of PlayStation VR, with the studio confirming a launch date for this week.

The Arcslinger

The Arcslinger is your classic dual pistol western-themed first-person shooter (FPS), with a small sprinkling of futuristic cyber technology. Keeping with the original gameplay, the experience is a gallery-style FPS, where it’s all about being quick on the draw to defeat the waves of enemies looking to stop you.

You play as the unlikely hero, Valiant, who just so happens to own a mysterious wise-cracking gun called Angelheart. The main goal is to become a master gunslinger and take down The Arcslinger’s evil villain Gold Smoke and his gang before he can take the power of the magical Arc. These Arc’s are highly useful because your guns can be upgraded with a range of options.

To begin with, these Arc’s allow you to add powerups which include the explosive Pyro Blast, the time changing Time Warp, the Lightning Rod to add that extra spark to your bullets, as well as defensive abilities such as the Shield Wall. Once equipped, these powerups can be upgraded further, helping give you additional bonuses to aid in the more difficult levels.
