The Tokyo Games Show (TGS) 2017 is in its second day and Bandai Namco has announced a new virtual reality (VR) experience being made in partnership with Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo called Sword Art Online: Replication Project.
While there’s been no mention relating to which headsets Sword Art Online: Replication Project will support, Bandai Namco’s official landing page for the videogame is recruiting ‘5G Testers’ between today and 15th November 2017 for an event being held between Friday, 8th December, 2017 – Sunday, 10th December, 2017, at Tokyo Sky Tree Town in Tokyo Solamachi.
The image above showcases the main character next to a new one called Mist. An overview of the story translated by Gematsu reads: “One day, you dive into the virtual reality MMO “Sword Art Online,” and in this world, you are taken prisoner on the floating castle of “Aincrad.”
“You are now participating in a death game, where “death in the game means death in real life,” and you encounter a lonely, sweet girl named “Mist.”
“Can you play this death game, in which various difficulties await, protect the girl, and survive until the very end…!?”
As further details on Sword Art Online: Replication Project are released VRFocus will keep you updated.
