The Steam Autumn Sale is here, and includes some decent discounts on big VR titles including Half-Life: Alyx and The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners.

Steam Halloween Sale Includes Five Nights, Red Matter And Other VR Titles

With Halloween just a few days away, Steam started their annual Halloween sale, which runs from October 28 until November 1 at 10am PST.

A few games are listed under the “Horror VR” category on the sale, including:

  • Organ Quarter – $12.49 (50% off)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted – $20.99 (30% off)
  • Horror of the Deep – $3.59 (55% off)
  • SCP: Blackout – $15.99 (20% off)
  • Rise of Insanity – $4.89 (51% off)
  • Emily Wants To Play – $2.44 (51% off)
  • Narcosis – $7.49 (50% off)
  • Don’t Knock Twice – $6.79 (66% off)
  • Stifled – $15.99 (20% off)
  • Frosty Nights – 0.84 (80% off)

Of those, the most notable is definitely Five Nights At Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted. The game recently received some new Halloween DLC as well – Curse of the Dreadbear. However, that DLC isn’t free and is not included in the base game. It is not included in the Halloween sale and is available at the regular price of $9.99 on Steam.

There are also a few non-horror VR games included in the sale as well. Most notably, Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes is available at half price for just $7.49. Another great VR title, Red Matter, is available at 20% off for just $19.99, while Racket: Nx is also available at 50% off for $9.99.

These are the most prominent titles on sale, but still only just a slice of the VR discounts on offer. You can view the full list of VR games that are discounted in the Halloween sale here.

Besides VR titles, there are a lot of significant regular PC games on sale as well, which you can also check out over at Steam.

Will you be picking up anything in this year’s Steam Halloween sale? Let us know in the comments.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid of the Steam Halloween Sale

Yeah it’s Halloween, time for fake spiders, fake cobwebs and usually rubbish costumes that involve a cheap plastic mask from the local corner shop. Why spend your cash on stuff that’s only going to go to the landfill when you can really frighten yourself with a good horror videogame (in virtual reality (VR) obviously). Oculus has already begun its Halloween sale and today Steam has done the same.

The Forest image1

As always the Steam sale tends to be the biggest, purely down to the amount of content on the platform. The Halloween sale is no different for VR fans, especially as the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality headsets are all catered for.

There are four main categories to choose from when looking for your next purchase, Top Sellers, which has both standard and VR titles displayed showcasing The Forest for example with a 33 percent discount, dropping its cost to £10.37 GBP. Then there’s Horror Games for standard PC players and Horror VR for those that really like a scare. Lastly there’s Horror Free to Play for anyone looking to hold onto their cash.

The Horror VR section reads like a who’s who of scary immersive experiences, with the likes of Killing Floor: Incursion, Dreadhalls, Monstrum, A Chair in a Room, Don’t Knock Twice, The Brookhaven Experiment, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, Dead Secret, Arizona Sunshine and many more appearing.

On average most of the titles offer around 50 percent off, with some going down to 25 percent whilst others offer a massive 87 percent saving.

Steam does have 147 horror experiences available, not all of which are in the sale, but still plenty to choose from. It’s a short sale window with the offers finishing this Thursday, 1st November. For any further updates of the latest VR discounts and deals, keep reading VRFocus.

Steam Halloween Sale Brings Discounts to 20 Spooky VR Titles Through November 1st

Looking to get scared in VR this Halloween season? Steam’s Halloween sale runs through November 1st, bringing discounts to fright-themed VR titles.

Leading the VR portion of the Steam Halloween sale is the fan-favorite zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine, on sale for $30, a 25% discount over the usual price. The recently released Duck Season experienced VR studio Stress Level Zero is also available, discounted by 15%. Perhaps the scariest of the bunch, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul, gets a healthy 38% discount, as well as my vote as a solid choice for scaring friends and family this Halloween.

Meanwhile, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter gets a steep 80% discount, and while the VR version isn’t well rated, the $6 bundle includes the base game (which is quite well rated), so you can always fall back to non-VR play if you don’t like the VR implementation.

Rounding out the VR portion of the Halloween sale are a few lesser known but still well rated titles like Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery (discounted 25%), the recently released Organ Quarter (discounted 20%), and what’s by now a VR classic, Dreadhalls (discounted 25%).

To see all 20 discounted VR titles that are part of the Steam Halloween sale, scroll down to the ‘HORROR VR’ section on this page; you’ve got until November 1st at 10AM PT. There’s lots of other VR content on sale too (separately from the Halloween sale)—click here to check it out.
