Space Channel 5 VR: Arakata Dancing Show Coming to HTC Vive

During the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2016 VRFocus reported on Sega and developer Grounding Inc bringing back the old Space Channel 5 videogame series with a virtual reality (VR) version called Space Channel 5 VR: Ukiuki Viewing Show. Simply a demo to showcase to TGS visitors, the studios have done it again with Space Channel 5 VR: Arakata Dancing Show, this time for the upcoming Niconico Tokaiga game show in Japan.

Space Channel 5 VR: Arakata Dancing Show will be shown in demo form using the HTC Vive headset. Once again players will be dancing their socks to this rhythm action experience copying the moves of star reporter Ulala as she battles the Morolians who have come to destroy (or confuse) the Earth with their dance moves.

The videogame demo will be playable on 10th and 11th February during the event. It’ll take around 15 minutes for each session and children under 13 are ineligible. Just after Sping 2018 the developers plan on releasing the demo with Space Channel 5 VR: Arakata Dancing Show seeing a full release for HTC Vive later in the year. Currently there’s been no mention of further headset support.

Should a miracle happen and for some reason Space Channel 5 VR: Arakata Dancing Show manages to make it to western HTC Vive owners, VRFocus will let you know.
