Radial-G: Infinity-X Confirmed for Gear VR Release This Week

You may recall back in 2015 when Tammeka Games released an Android version of its virtual reality (VR) racer called Radial-G: Infinity. An offshoot of Radial-G: Racing Revolved, the mobile version went down the endless runner route and today the studio has confirmed a release date for the Samsung Gear VR version, Radial-G: Infinity-X.

Just like the Android version, Radial-G: Infinity-X is an endless runner style videogame where players have to avoid traps and obstacles whilst hitting as many speed boosts as possible. They’re outrunning a mechanical alien squid boss and if too slow will be burnt to a crisp with its giant laser.

To make matters worst, this boss has a drone army that’ll destroy parts of the track, so players will need to have quick reflexes to succeed. To aid in this endeavour there are several pick-ups to be collected, such as a magnet to collect orbs, a protective shield and bombs to help ward off the encroaching boss. The orbs allow players to power-up their ship, adding strategy to the high octane gameplay.

Unlike normal endless runners which tend to just alter the landscape and difficulty as players progress, if a Radial-G: Infinity-X gamer makes it far enough they’ll come face-to-face with the boss, and will then be tasked with obliterating him with missile attacks whilst avoiding his incoming fire.

And to make players come back for more Tammeka Games has added several ships to unlock depending upon performance.

VRFocus previewed Radial-G: Infinity-X back in 2015, an early build at that stage, where you’ll be able to see the difference in design between the screenshots which are greatly improved upon.

Radial-G: Infinity-X will launch this Wednesday, 26th April 2017 on the Oculus Store. VRFocus will continue its coverage of Tammeka Games and Radial-G, reporting back with further updates on the franchise.
