It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Gang Release VR Motorcycle Stunt ‘Project Badass’

There are plenty of 360-degree video apps available for virtual reality (VR) headsets, one of the most prominent is Jaunt VR, which has seen several shorts appear this month. The latest comes from the team behind It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, with an immersive motorcycle stunt called Project Badass.

Project Badass is a four-minute, fully-scripted episode, in which viewers find themselves on the back of Mac’s motorbike. Mac’s preparing to preform a stunt by racing along a pier, speeding through smoke for dramatic effect, then jumping off into the Atlantic ocean.

The video premiers today to coincide with a new episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia featuring a VR theme. Titled ‘PTSDee’ today’s episode sees Dee finding out she’s a male stripper’s ‘rock bottom’, so she goes on a mission to prove she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Meanwhile, Mac and Frank begin playing a VR war game that causes Mac to develop his own case of PTSD.

The Jaunt app for iOS, Android, Samsung Gear VR, PlayStation VR, Google Daydream, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and major desktop browsers is free to download to view Project Badass.
