Perp Games and nDreams are set to launch a double pack of PlayStation VR titles this month, with The Assembly and Perfect coming together at retail. These two very different experiences are designed specifically to take advantage of the immersion offered by the virtual reality (VR) medium, and both support either PlayStation Move motion controllers or the DualShock 4 control pad.
The Assembly, a first-person interactive story, casts players as two individuals on a path to discover the truth behind a morally challenging organisation. Players will face a variety of puzzles as they investigate the Assembly’s secret bunker, making tough decisions that could save lives or lead to catastrophe. The Assembly can also be played in full on a traditional TV, without the use of a PlayStation VR.
VRFocus delivered a review of The Assembly upon its PC launch last year, stating: “The Assembly is a very enjoyable experience within its genre, but is greater perceived as a learning tool for future developments. There are a lot of design decisions that have been made purely to cultivate the immersive nature of VR and are hugely successful in that regard, while significantly less successful when played on a traditional monitor; a trait that will offer other developers lessons on how to capitalise on the strengths of VR.”
nDreams’ next PlayStation VR title, Perfect, is a very different experience. Players can visit three interactive destinations – a sun-drenched beach, dramatic mountains and the spectacular northern lights.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Perp to bring two of our VR titles to boxed retail as increasingly more gamers take the plunge into the world of VR,” said David Corless, VP of Publishing at nDreams. “Both titles have endured as great PSVR experiences – The Assembly as a full game designed to VR’s strengths, and Perfect as a terrific way to show off your newly purchased headset.”
Perp Games, on the back of a successful retail launch for Tammeka’s Radial-G: Racing Revolved, will bring nDreams’ VR Double Pack to retail stores from 24th November 2017. The collection includes The Assembly on Blu-ray disc, and Perfect as a download voucher that can be redeemed through the PlayStation Store.
nDreams has subsequently launched Paw Print Games’ Bloody Zombies for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and will soon be releasing a new VR-exclusive title, Shooty Fruity. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR titles from nDreams.
