Cat Sorter VR Out Meow for HTC Vive

Love cats or just highly allergic to them? Well today Pawmigo Games has launched its first virtual reality (VR) title for HTC Vive, Cat Sorter VR.

Cat Sorter VR involves a conveyor belt of cute kitties, where players have to sort the defective cats from the perfect ones. Featuring outlandish qualities including shark fins, dinosaur tails, vampire fangs or lobster arms, players need to rebuild them as fast as possible for maximum scores.

“The Pawmigo team is made up of cat owners and game designers that were inspired to combine the two to create a really fun and entertaining experience that invites anyone and everyone to play, and also adds to the growing genre of accessible VR games,” said Spencer Stuard, Pawmigo Games founder and designer in a statement. “We’re ecstatic to be able to introduce players to the humor and frantic gameplay of Cat Sorter VR, and bring a litter of silly kitties to players’ homes without the worry of cat allergies.”

A single-player experience, Cat Sorter VR can be played alone or in a group, allowing friends and family to compete to become the ultimate cat sorter.

The title is available to download on Steam and Viveport for the HTC Vive for $12.99 USD/ £9.99 GBP, but there’s a special sale price of $9.99/£7.99 available until 5th September.

VRFocus will continue its coverage of Pawmigo Games, reporting back with any further updates.

Purr-Fection Coming to HTC Vive with Cat Sorter VR

Ever wanted to create the perfect cat army? Or breed a cat with a scorpion tail, or three eyes? Then upcoming title Cat Sorter VR might be right up your alley.

Independent videogame developer Pawmigo Games will be bringing cute but tongue-in-cheek simulator title Cat Sorter VR to Steam for HTC Vive on 29th August. The title will allow players to sort and build cats to create their ideal litter. ‘Defective’ cats who don’t have the traits you desire can be sent back for re-assembly using controls that are designed to be simple and intuitive.

“Cat Sorter VR is unlike any cat game with simple pick-up-and-play control mechanics,” said Spencer Stuard, Pawmigo game designer and formerly of Nightschool Studio “We are delighted to give cat lovers attending CatCon the opportunity to be the very first to experience the fresh gameplay and light-hearted humor of Cat Sorter VR.”

The title is planned to be available for solo play or multiplayer, where friends can join forces to sniff out cats with the right traits to join their cat army. Pawmigo Games are planning to make Cat Sorter VR available for testing to attendees at CatCon 2017, which is due to take place on 12th-13th August, 2017 at the Pasadena Convention Centre in Pasadena, California.
