Livestreams of virtual reality (VR) and 360-degree content have become increasingly popular ways for users to engage with VR content. The advantage of a VR livestream is that it brings the viewer closer to the experience, allowing them to feel like they are really present. VR company Digital Domain will be providing that experience for viewers worldwide with a VR livestream of the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
The Nobel Peace Prize Concert is an annual event now in its 24th year, organised to honour the newest Nobel Peace Prize laureate and promote peace around the world. This year’s headliner will be respected R&B artist John Legend, who is joining EDM musician Alan Walker on the line-up.
Legend has played the Nobel Peace Prize Concert previously, in 2006, where he joined the list of famous artists who had appeared at the concert, including well-known names such as Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys, Tina Turner, Andrea Bocelli and Elli Goulding.

“Our capacity to transcend borders – to work together to overcome hate with love, to eradicate violence and, instead, pursue justice – is what moves us closer to a peaceful future,” said Legend. “As an artist, an activist, and a father, I am honored and humbled to take part in this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert as we use our voices to advocate for peace in the face of global adversity.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome John Legend back to Norway for this year’s Nobel Peace Concert,” said Olav Njølstad, Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute. “His powerful and influential voice, both on and off the stage, will help spread the message of peace to a global audience.”
