The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 02/04/18

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 02/04/18

Only a handful of games worth highlighting this week, but they’re all pretty solid. We’ve got a cyborg ninja simulator, an excellent racing game, and one of the most promising Early Access VR God games we’ve seen in recent months.

And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

Sairento VR, from Mixed Realms

Price: $29.99 (Discounted Further Currently)

Imagine you had the ability to stop and slow down time, shoot a wide variety of guns, and slice through dozens of enemies with dual katanas all while wall running, jumping, and sliding around levels. Now stop imaging and go play Sairento VR if that sounds fun. It’s shallow and unpolished, but it’s a good time.

Sprint Vector, from Survios

Price: $29.99 (Discounted Further Currently)

Simply put, Sprint Vector is an entirely unique and immensely rewarding VR racing game that has you up and on your feet, swinging your arms, racing against opponents at breakneck speeds. And there’s no VR sickness in sight. Must-play territory right here.

Townsmen VR, from Handy-Games

Price: $9.99

Townsmen VR is a God game in which you take care of a quaint little village full of cute, tiny people. You have to watch over them and make sure they have everything they need. It’s sort of like Black & White in VR, or similar to The Sims.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 02/04/18

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 02/04/18

We’re back down to just a couple new release on PSVR this week but, fortunately, they’re not terrible, with a cheerful puzzle game making its way from mobile and PC VR over to Sony’s headset and a rhythm-based drumming game.

UploadVR also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

Rangi, from Funsoft

Price: Unknown, releases imminently

A colorful, inventive puzzler that looks great inside your VR headset. Inspired by tribal art and music, the game has you exploring temples as you search for stolen rhythms. This is a pretty good pick to keep you going until bigger PSVR games arrive, and it finds a great home on Sony’s headset.

Happy Drummer, from Shanghai Lusion

Price: $9.99

Happy Drummer has been out for a while on PC VR headsets but is now finally making its way over to the PSVR. In this Donkey Konga meets Audioshield hybrid game you’ll drum to the beat of music as cascading notes fall down for you to match. It works well and is pretty fun if you’re looking for a solid music game choice.

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/28/18

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/28/18

While not the biggest of weeks there’s plenty to check out on your PC VR headset today. We’ve got a feeling most of you will be dropping money on at least some of the content headed your way this week.

If you missed last week’s releases, they’re right here. And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

Cold Iron, from Catch & Release
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

Head back to the old west in this new puzzle shooter that has you using limited ammo to take out targets that appear in specified orders. You’ll need to think and act fast to become the fastest gun in the west (and elsewhere). Since Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed this week, this might be the best opportunity to put your cowboy hat on for some time.

Battle of Kings VR, from Wenkly Studio
Price:$9.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

This is a pretty sharp-looking tower defense game with bright environments. Defend your kingdom with an assortment of towers, bringing armies to their knees. It might not be the most important use of VR to date, but it should be fun nevertheless.

VR Regatta, from MarineVerse
Price: $14.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

We haven’t seen many (if any) sailing games for VR yet and VR Regatta looks like it could fill the void quite nicely. In this idyllic experience, you explore the Akalana Islands at sunset, completing challenges and progressing your career using realistic controls to handle the boat. It looks pretty authentic but promises to cater to both pros and novices.

In Death, from Solfar Studios
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

The developers of Everest VR return with their first true VR game, now in Early Access. In Death brings bow combat to your headset with roguelike elements including procedurally generated levels and randomized enemies. Expect more content to get added throughout the year as it makes its way towards a full release.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 01/21/17

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 01/21/17

We finally have new games to talk about! It’s been a slow few weeks for Sony’s PlayStation VR (PSVR) but 2018 officially kicks off here with the release of two new games.

UploadVR has also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

The Inpatient, from Supermassive Games
Price: $29.99

The long-awaited prequel to Until Dawn is finally here; The Inpatient is a psychological VR horror game set years before the events of the original game. You’re a patient at a mental asylum trying to make a hasty escape, but all is not what it seems. This is a creepy little VR game, though we found that the awkward controls held it back from greatness.

StarDrone VR, from Beatshapers
Price: $7.99

An arcade puzzle game gets a VR conversion. Aim and shoot a spinning disc across levels, trying to gather stars as you go. It’s a meticulous challenge that can be fun to play, though there’s really not much reason for it to be in VR. Cheap, though.

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 01/21/17

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 01/21/17

If you’ve been starved for content so far in 2018 then good news; the content drought ends here. This week is packed full with interesting VR experiences you should be checking out.

OrbusVR, from Orbus Online
Price: $39.99 (Rift)

Another stab at the fabled VR MMO. OrbusVR features a massive world to explore within VR, combat mechanics with a bow and arrow, spells and big monsters. Team up with your friends and take on quests together.

A Handful of Keflings, from NinjaBee
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive)

A cutesy little town builder in which you help little Keflings build up a life, harvesting and refining resources. This is a relaxed kind of experience with over 50 kinds of buildings to make for those that love town-planners. Something different, at the very least.

End Space, from Justin Wasilenko
Price: $19.99 (Rift)

The Gear VR space combat game finally makes its way to the Oculus Rift this week after launching on PSVR previously. In End Space you can take flight and do battle with waves of enemies while completing missions. If you’re a fan of EVE: Valkyrie but prefer single-player games then this is absolutely one for you.

Subnautica, from Unknown Worlds Entertainment
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)

The longtime Early Access game finally gets its full release this week. Subnautica is a huge underwater adventure in which you explore an alien ocean world, uncovering fantastical beasts and mysterious civilizations. If you’re looking for a veritable “full” VR experience with tons of stuff to do and see, then this fits the bill very nicely.

The Perfect Sniper, from Sinn Studio
Price: $16.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

Think you’ve got what it takes to become the perfect sniper? Then grab your headset and jump inside this hitman simulator. The game includes a full story mode with different scenarios in which you must execute high profile targets from the safety of a sniper’s nest, though things won’t always go your way.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them VR Experience, from FrameStore
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive)

JK Rowling’s Harry Potter universe comes to VR with a tie-in app to the new film series. This released on Daydream a while back and we weren’t too impressed with it. Sadly it looks like this new expanded edition with more monsters isn’t that much better, but it’s the closest you’ll get to casting spells at Hogwarts right now.

Nemesis Realms, from Evocat Games
Price: $9.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

Now in Early Access, Nemesis Realms is one of those games that explores the very interesting area of local VR play. One player puts on a headset and serves as a boss that other players with controllers have to try and take down. It’s a really cool idea, that’s reminiscent of the Godzilla-esque game in Playroom VR.

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/14/17

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive And Windows Releases Of The Week 01/14/17

We’re still really waiting for 2018 to kick into gear; nearly three weeks in and there’s still very, very little to talk about on the releases front. But there are a handful of interesting new releases on Steam this week if you’re desperate for something new.

BlackShield: Upora Story, from V-Sensory
Price: $29.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows)

This is another one of those Chinese-developed VR games that’s appeared from seemingly nowhere but boasts impressive visuals. It’s a dual-wielding shooter in which you shoot down scores of enemies. We haven’t gone hands-on with it yet, though we’re hearing reports that it’s pretty short, especially for that hefty price tag.

Stunt Corgi VR, from Studio Roqovan
Price: $19.99 (Vive)

The studio that brought you World War Toons is back with something… slightly stranger. Stunt Corgi VR, as the name suggests, is all about getting your cutesy companion to pull off impressive tricks by piling up props in your backyard.

The Biggest Gear VR Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

The Biggest Gear VR Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

In an interesting twist of fate, the biggest Gear VR titles this week just so happen to actually be ports of Google Daydream titles. The river of content flows both ways for mobile VR as it appears!

We also have a top list of the absolute best Gear VR games to tide you over.

Gunjack 2: End of Shift, from CCP Games

Price: $7.99

Wave shooters can only do so much, especially on a mobile VR headset. Without positional tracking in Gunjack 2 you’re relegated to rotating your head as if your face were a turret as you shoot down bad guys in space with big guns and powerful bullets. It’s quite pretty, but also very shallow.

Here’s our full review of the original Daydream version.

Wonderglade, from Resolution Games

Price: Free

Exploring a carnival was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid and now anyone can do it from anywhere in the world by playing Wonderglade from Resolution Games, the same studio behind fishing game Bait! It’s a collection of clever, fun mini-games that have a lot of replay value.

Show It 2 Me, from Titmouse

Price: Free

Show It 2 Me is one of those weird, off-the-wall VR experiences that kind of defy words. How do you describe something that the creators themselves refer to as “weird cartoon shit” in the first place? Just watch this trailer then go download it and relish in the sheer absurdity of it all.

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

The Biggest Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

It may be one of the last weeks of the year but it’s a huge one for VR releases. That is at least if own an HTC Vive. Practically all of this week’s big releases are Vive-only save for a few others. Take a look; you won’t want to miss what’s out this week.

And don’t forget that UploadVR has a Steam community group, complete with a curated list of recommendations so that you don’t have to waste any money finding out what’s good in the world of VR. We also have a top list of the absolute best Oculus Rift and HTC Vive games at the corresponding links.

Fallout 4 VR, from Bethesda
Price: $59.99 (Vive)

Here it is; the entirety of Bethesda’s enormous 2015 RPG has finally made its way into VR. Make your way across the wasteland, taking down bandits and freakish mutants with your trusty companion, Dogmeat, at your side. Motion controls enable realistic aiming and transform the game’s UI. This is one of VR’s biggest games, but it’s not without its issues.

Here’s our full review.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, from Rockstar Games
Price: $29.99 (Vive)

Another high-profile port, seven cases from the original L.A. Noire have been brought into VR with full motion control support. Take on the role of Detective Cole Phelps and interview suspects, scanning their realistic facial expressions for clues, and then take part in crime-scene studies and action sequences. The jury’s still out on this one but it looks promising.

Watch our 90-minute long livestream for more details.

Operation Apex, from Curiscope
Price: $19.99 (Vive)

This is a new Vive Studios release that does its part to prove how education can work inside VR. Explore life under the ocean as you investigate upsets to the food chain. Lure and scan fish to learn more about them and get lost in a highly-detailed environment. Just discount this one just because of bigger releases.

Here’s what we thought.

YouTube VR, from Google
Price: Free (Vive)

YouTube finally comes to your HTC Vive. Access the entirety of the video sharing platform’s catalog and immerse yourself in a wide range of 360 degree videos too. This is an Early Access version right now, with further optimizations planned for 2018.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 12/10/17

One of the last weeks for PSVR in 2017 is also one of the biggest. We’ve got a new version of one of the headset’s best games as well as some free tie-in content you definitely won’t want to miss out on.

UploadVR also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition, From Capcom
Price: $29.99

Arguably this year’s best PSVR title gets repackaged with a heap of new content. The Gold Edition features the entire original campaign, both volumes of the Banned Footage DLC, a new mission called End of Zoe and the long-awaited mission called Not A Hero. As a package it’s plenty of polished content, and the new additions are quite welcome (and also available to original owners).

Original game review.

The Last Guardian VR Demo, from Sony Japan
Price: Free

Last years’ Team ICO epic gets a tie-in VR experience with just a short taste of what the entire game might look like in PSVR. Enjoy two sequences from the full game as if you were really there interacting with your beloved bird-dog. Sadly a full game isn’t in the works but hopefully this brings us a step closer to Shadow of the Colossus VR.

Here’s what we thought.

Strange Things The VR Experience, from Netflix
Price: Free

With the second season of Netflix’s hit series now out, you can also jump into the experience with VR. I’ll admit I’ve never watched the show so I don’t really know what to expect other than the smoke monster from Lost. Be aware that this experience is very short.

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 12/03/17

The Biggest PSVR Releases Of The Week 12/03/17

With the Christmas rush now nearly over, there’s not a whole lot of new content on PSVR this week. But we do have a few bits to talk about.

UploadVR also launched the ‘UploadVR PSVR Community’ on PlayStation 4! Join up, find other gamers to play with, and engage in discussions with them. Also, don’t forget to check out our list of the 9 Best PlayStation VR Games if you need any extra inspiration.

Justice League VR, from Warner Bros.
Price: $9.99

Released to promote the recent blockbuster, Justice League VR features a set of minigames that allow you to take control of various members of DC’s flagship superhero team. Drive the Batmobile as Batman, speed down the subway as The Flash or, uh, fight a big fish as Aquaman. Sadly this isn’t the VR experience to bring our comic book dreams to life; it’s forgettable at best and frustrating at worst.

Here’s our review.

Snow Fortress, from Mythical City Games
Price: $9.99

Here’s an adorable little game arriving just in time for Christmas. You roll up snowballs and then take part in all out war with your friends, using your deadly motion-controlled aim to bring them to justice. This is perfect if you have a snow-free Christmas like we always do in the UK.
