Top 5 Best Beat Saber DLC Music Packs

Looking for the best Beat Saber DLC? We’ve got you covered – several Beat Saber DLC packs have released over the last few years — but with so many available, how do you know which ones to choose? List time!

If you’ve just got a new VR headset, like the Oculus Quest 2, one of the first games you’ll probably buy is Beat Saber. While the base game comes with a huge amount of content, some of the game’s best tracks (and tracks featuring popular artists) are not included, and sold separately as DLC music packs.

There have been 7 music pack releases so far, and we’ve picked our top 5 to rank for you. Each pack is slightly different, some with more or fewer songs than others, but you can choose to buy the whole pack, for a slightly discounted price, or just buy songs individually. For that reason, we’ve marked a ‘Stand-Out Track’ for each DLC pack, so that if you’re just interested in buying one song from that artist, you know which is the best.

Here’s our ranking of the top five best Beat Saber DLC music packs.

Best Beat Saber DLC

5. Imagine Dragons

What you see here is what you get — it’s an Imagine Dragons music pack that’s neither excellent nor terrible. There’s 10 tracks included in the pack, making it one of the bigger selections, and all of the band’s biggest hits are included. For Imagine Dragons fans, this is a must have, but if you’re indifferent, maybe just buy one or two songs instead of all 10.

Stand-Out Track: Believer

4. Monstercat Vol 1

Monstercat was the first big release of a full music pack for Beat Saber, and it remains one of the better ones. How much you like this pack will probably depend on how much you like the style of EDM music that’s featured in it, which can be a pretty polarizing genre but is what Beat Saber was really built upon in the first place. This was something David acknowledged in his review early last year — while the music wasn’t his first preference and he was left wanting a bit more variety, it’s still an excellent release.

Stand-Out Track: Overkill

3. Panic! At The Disco

This pack is incredibly fun and the mappings suitably match the fun style of Panic!’s music. There are some great moments where the block mappings are playfully interacting with the song, and some tracks feel much more dance-orientated than other Beat Saber releases. It’s still got the same core slashing gameplay, but this pack feels a little bit more lively. The only disappointing part is the very small selection of songs — with only four songs included, this is the smallest DLC pack released. Plus, it’s missing the band’s iconic debut hit I Write Sins, Not Tragedies, which feels like a strange omission.

Stand-Out Track: Emperor’s New Clothes

2. Green Day

The Green Day music pack tried to shake up the standard formula a bit, and for the most part it works. At the time of release, it was the only rock-based music available for Beat Saber and the mappings of each track adjusted their style accordingly. Compared to the original Beat Saber soundtrack and other DLC releases, the mappings for the Green Day tracks can feel a little bit more rigid and syncopated, focus on drums and strong rhythmic beats. This definitely isn’t a bad thing — it gives the pack it’s own unique feel and leans into the rock genre perfectly. The Green Day environment, featuring the American Idiot grenade heart, looks spectacular as well.

If there’s one thing that lets this pack down, it’s the song selection. For starters, there’s only 6 songs, two of which are from Green Day’s 2019 album Father of All… Given the timing, this was clearly a promo move, but it’s a shame those two tracks couldn’t have been filled by other classic (and much better) Green Day tracks.

Stand-Out Track: American Idiot

1. Linkin Park

Green Day may have been the first pack to implement rock music in Beat Saber, but the Linkin Park pack is the one that perfected it. In his review earlier this year, David was absolutely astounded by the DLC, calling it a “dream come true.” There is a massive selection of 11 songs, which span across several albums and include most of the band’s greatest hits. Not only is there a breadth of tracks available, but their mappings are excellent and have great depth across the entire collection of songs.

If you’re a Linkin Park fan, then this DLC pack is essential. Even if you’re not this is still one of the best Beat Saber DLC packs. You can read David’s full review here.

Top 10 Best Beat Saber DLC Music Packs (Updated Winter 2022)

Looking for the best Beat Saber DLC? We’ve got you covered.

Beat Games released several Beat Saber DLC packs over the last few years, but with so many available, how do you know which ones to choose?

There have been 12 music pack releases so far, and we’ve picked our top 10 to rank for you. Each pack is slightly different, some with more or fewer songs than others. You can choose to buy the whole pack for a slightly discounted price,or just buy songs individually. We’ve marked a ‘Stand-Out Track’ in each DLC pack, so if you’re interested in buying just one song from that artist, you know our pick.

Keep in mind that personal taste also plays a big role here. We’ve tried to rank these packs based on the mapping and gameplay experience as much as their connection to the music. But, if you love an artist then you’re also probably more likely to put them on your own list of the best Beat Saber DLC, regardless of how we’ve ranked it here.

Without further ado, here’s our ranking of the top ten best Beat Saber DLC music packs. You can grab these packs on the Oculus Store for Quest and RiftSteam and the PlayStation Store.

Best Beat Saber DLC

10. Imagine Dragons

What you see here is what you get — it’s an Imagine Dragons music pack that’s neither excellent nor terrible. There’s 10 tracks included, making it one of the bigger selections, and all of the band’s biggest hits are included. This was something David acknowledged in his review early last year — while the music wasn’t his first preference and he was left wanting a bit more variety, it’s still an excellent release and a worthy addition to the best Beat Saber DLC list.

Stand-Out Track: Overkill

8. Skrillex

This pack, while a separate artist DLC release, feels quite close to the EDM tracks found in the Beat Saber OST, with its own unique flair. The tracks span Skrillex’s career, including the infamous Bangarang, and are all solid additions to the Beat Saber library. If you’re a fan of EDM, dubstep or Skrillex, you’ll probably enjoy this pack. It’s the one that feels closest to home when compared to the OG Beat Saber tracks.

Stand-Out Track: Bangarang

7. Panic! At The Disco

This pack is incredibly fun and the mappings suitably match the fun style of Panic!’s music, making it an easy addition to the best Beat Saber DLC list.

Still, it retains its crown of one of the best Beat Saber DLC packs.

Stand-Out Track: American Idiot

5. BTS

Moving into the top half of the best Beat Saber DLC list, this pack is a must for BTS fans. It’s one of the bigger packs available and the music has a high-energy feel that gels well with Beat Saber. The maps use walls a lot more than most Beat Saber songs, which gets you moving more than you might be used to.

It uses this alongside more synchronized left and right blocks and diagonal directions to achieve a dancier feel than some of the more rigid or electronic maps. The fast tempo of most BTS songs also means that, when playing on Expert and above, these maps do feel a bit more complicated to master immediately than some of the other DLC releases – whether that’s a good thing depends on what you’re looking for.

It also features little ‘TinyTan characters’ — aka cartoon versions of the BTS band — that pop up here and there throughout the maps, if you’re into that.

Stand-Out Track: Dynamite

4. Interscope Mixtape

Unlike the other DLC releases, this music pack features a mix of different artists on each track, all signed to part of Interscope Records (hence the title). You can see the full tracklist here, but it includes Kendrick Lamar, Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani and some other big names. Most of the tracks in this pack feel like throwbacks to the 2000s/10s era pop, which isn’t a bad thing at all. In fact, tracks like The Sweet Escape have a fun, bouncy feel to the beat maps that differentiates itself from other releases. Likewise, it’s a real breath of fresh air to get some rap featured in Beat Saber. If you want a mix of genres and artists, then this pack is the best bang for your buck.

Stand-Out Track: DNA by Kendrick Lamar

3. Lady Gaga

One of the most entertaining and generous packs on this list, the Lady Gaga DLC gets really creative and offers beat maps that feel engaging, challenging and yet reflective of Gaga’s musical style. Most tracks have some zany quirks that embody the spirit of the music, making the release feel distinct from its peers.

The other big highlight of this pack is the selection on offer – almost all of Gaga’s biggest hits are available in the pack, particularly those from her first couple of albums. It’s a mix of old and new songs that will surely satisfy any Gaga fans and ranks highly on our list of the best Beat Saber DLC.

Stand-Out Track: Just Dance

2. Linkin Park

Green Day may have been the first pack to implement rock music in Beat Saber, but the Linkin Park pack is the one that perfected it. We were absolutely astounded by the DLC in our review in 2020, calling it a “dream come true” for Linkin Park fans. There is a massive selection of 11 songs, which span across several albums and include most of the band’s greatest hits. Not only is there a breadth of tracks available, but their mappings are excellent and have great depth across the entire collection of songs.

If you’re a Linkin Park fan, then this DLC pack is essential. Even if you’re not, this is still one of the best Beat Saber DLC packs. You can read our full review here.

Stand-Out Track: One Step Closer

1. Billie Eilish

Symbolically, the Billie Eilish music pack is one of the most significant releases so far. Eilish is one of the biggest music stars in the world right now, so to get her music into Beat Saber is a huge boon for Meta and Beat Games.

Luckily, the tracks live up to the pressure and the beat maps feel representative to Billie’s playfully dark style, while still feeling comfortably familiar within the wider Beat Saber library. It feels, overall, like the most polished and well-rounded DLC pack available for Beat Saber so far.

Stand-Out Track: bellyache

Rocket League x Monstercat Music Pack Rocks Onto Beat Saber

Rhythm action videogame Beat Saber has previously partnered with Monstercat for its music DLC packs, continuing the popularity of the virtual reality (VR) experience. Today another pack has been released, with the pair collaborating with Rocket League, bringing not only new music but a new look as well.

The Rocket League x Monstercat Music Pack has been inspired by the vehicular soccer title, offering 6 songs old and new while dropped into a Rocket League-themed environment.

The tracks are:

  • Tokyo Machine – ‘PLAY’
  • Stephen Walking – ‘Glide’
  • Slushii – ‘LUV U NEED U’
  • Tokyo Machine – ‘ROCK IT’
  • Dion Timmer – ‘Shiawase’
  • Slushii & Dion Timmer – ‘Test Me’

“At Monstercat, we are incredibly excited to have our gaming partners come together to create a memorable collaboration experience powered by our passionate artists,” said Gavin Johnson, Head of Gaming in a statement.

In addition to the music pack Rocket League players all around the world can get two new customization items for free (a Topper and Boost) featuring the cubes from Beat Saber.

Beat Saber is available for multiple VR headsets including Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index and PlayStation VR. Last month saw developer Beat Games release a Panic at the Disco music pack and there has also been one for Imagine Dragons. Other partnerships have included teaming up with SUBPAC on a branded limited-edition backpack. The big new feature the studio has yet to set a date for is 360 mode. This expands the Beat Saber formula so that those flying blocks no longer come from one direction, alternating from side to side, which should make the experience even more energetic.

VRFocus gave Beat Saber a full five-star review: “Who would have thought slashing coloured blocks with glowing sabers in time to electronic music could be so addictive, instantly evoking that ‘one more go’ idiom that defines great videogames that you just can’t put down.” As further updates are released for VR’s most popular rhythm action videogames, VRFocus will keep you updated.

‘Beat Saber’ Gets New ‘Rocket League’ Monstercat Music Pack DLC

Beat Games, the Czech Republic-based studio behind Beat Saber (2018), is again making good on their promise to keep the fresh music flowing to their block-slashing VR rhythm game. Starting today, you’ll be able to download the newest paid DLC pack featuring some of the catchiest tunes to find their way into Rocket League (2015).

The game’s newest music pack contains six songs you may recognize from the popular vehicular soccer game, provided by Monstercat, long-time music partners of both Rocket League and Beat Saber.

To go along with the tracks, the music pack is also adding a new beat-slashing environment inspired by Rocket League, which features goalposts flanked by a pair of rocket-powered cars.

Here’s the track list below:

Selling for $9, you’ll find the Rocket League x Monstercat music pack on Steam (Vive, Rift, Index, Windows VR), the Oculus Store (Rift, Quest), and the PlayStation Store (PSVR).

In a bit of a weird crossover, Rocket League also now features two new Beat Saber-themed customization items—a beat-block Topper and Boost animation—letting you show off your love for the VR game.

This brings the game’s paid DLC music packs to a total of four, including music packs from Panic at the Disco!Imagine Dragons, and Monstercat Music Pack Vol. 1.

Beat Saber Rocket League Music Pack DLC Tipped For Release

It looks like the upcoming Beat Saber announcement that was recently teased for November 7th is a new music pack in partnership with Rocket League developer, Psyonix, and music label Monstercat.

We found out about the new Beat Saber music pack from a video created by YouTuber Get To Da Choppa VR in which he points out a PSN Store listing for the pack was found already ahead of any sort of official announcement. Unless it has been taken down by the time you read this, you can see it listed right here. We’ve also included an image for reference in case it gets taken down prior to release:

As you can tell this new Beat Saber music pack includes six songs, all of which are used in Rocket League, and will cost $8.99:

  • Tokyo Machine – ‘PLAY’
  • Stephen Walking – ‘Glide’
  • Slushii – ‘LUV U NEED U’
  • Tokyo Machine – ‘ROCK IT’
  • Dion Timmer – ‘Shiawase’
  • Slushii & Dion Timmer – ‘Test Me’

Notably, this is the second cheapest Beat Saber music pack to date, ahead of only the $6.99 four-song Panic! at the Disco pack. The music pack follows a trend of focusing mostly on electronic-style music, which is great for fans of that genre. Here’s Tokyo Machine’s PLAY for reference:

Notably, this new Beat Saber music pack that’s partnered with one of the most popular indie games of the generation (Rocket League) launches on the same day as Pistol Whip, Cloudhead Games’ upcoming new rhythm shooter. You can see tons of gameplay footage of that on our YouTube channel and keep an eye out for our review once it launches later this week.

Let us know what you think of the selections down in the comments below!

Sansar and Monstercat Partner on Music Entertainment Experience Call of the Wild

Independent music label Monstercat has been growing its virtual reality (VR) of late, most notably thanks to a collaboration with Beat Games and Beat Saber. Today, Monstercat has announced a new partnership with Linden Lab and its social VR platform Sansar, bringing live music and entertainment via Monstercat: Call of the Wild Experience.

monstercat logo

Set to launch on 12th July 2019, Monstercat: Call of the Wild Experience will start with a virtual party to celebrate the label’s eighth anniversary. Featuring performances from more than a dozen Monstercat artists, free and premium tickets have now gone on sale via the Call of the Wild lobby in Sansar.

In the run-up to the event next week the lobby will feature special quests where visitors can earn prizes whilst unlocking clues to the party lineup. After the inaugural event, regular shows will be held every Wednesday at 1pm PT.

“Partnerships like these help us realize the very best of what virtual reality has to offer: access, connection, immersion – the feeling that we’re part of something bigger, no matter who we are or where we live,” says Ebbe Altberg, CEO of Linden Lab. “With the Call of the Wild Experience, we’re giving fans all over the world the chance to connect in a shared experience with other fans and the artists they love, but more than that, we’re using gaming to elevate the concert experience – questing, raffles, special in-game prizes, across both VR and PC. This is the future of live music, and we’re excited to have Monstercat on board.”

“We’re offering our fans something truly unique in the Monstercat: Call of the Wild Experience their own space to meet, connect and share creative ideas with each other,” says Dan Scarcelli, Head of Programming at Monstercat. “Social VR has the power to transform how communities gather online, and we’re thrilled to be leading the charge with Sansar.”

Monstercat has always done things a little differently when it comes to music distribution, ignoring conventional avenues like radio reaching fans within popular channels like YouTube, Mixer and Twitch, hence the VR partnerships.

If you’d like to check out the Monstercat: Call of the Wild Experience then it’s fairly easy to do so. Sansar is free to download, either direct from Linden Lab’s website or through platforms like Steam. While usable in standard desktop mode, for the best experience, use an Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or Valve Index headset. For further updates on Monstercat collaborations in VR, keep reading VRFocus.

‘Beat Saber’ Gets First Paid Music Pack, Update Brings Previous PSVR Exclusives to PC

Beat Games today released Beat Saber’s long-awaited first DLC music pack, an effort created in partnership with electronic dance music record label Monstercat. A new update on PC also brings it up to speed with the PSVR version, now featuring full mode and track parity between both platforms.

Update (12:10 PM ET): It previously appeared that only the individual songs and a bundle featuring both the base game and the 10-song pack were available at launch. It seems there’s been a fix in the meantime, as Steam now shows the bundled songs correctly.

Dubbed ‘Monstercat Music Pack Vol. 1’, the paid DLC contains 10 tracks priced at either $13 for the entire pack, or $2 individually. Beat Games says all levels were mapped by hand and are available in all 5 difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert and Expert+ mode.

Here’s all the tracks coming in the first music pack; you can preview each track below by clicking on the title:

1. Till It’s Over – Tristam
2. We Won’t Be Alone (feat. Laura Brehm) – Feint
3. Boundless – Aero Chord
4. EPIC – Tokyo Machine
5. Stronger (feat. EMEL) – Stonebank
6. Overkill – RIOT
7. This Time – Kayzo
8. Emoji VIP – Pegboard Nerds
9. Rattlesnake – Rogue
10. Feeling Stronger (feat. Charlotte Colley) [High Maintenance Remix] – Muzzy

The music pack will be available for purchase for both PSVR and PC VR users, including Steam (Rift, Vive, Windows VR) and Oculus Store (Rift).

Additionally, PC users now have complete parity with PSVR after today’s update, as the PC version now features two previous PSVR exclusives: campaign mode and five tracks from OST Vol. II.

Valve Updated SteamVR Tracking Because 'Beat Saber' Players Were Too Fast

Beat Saber also now features a new UI, something Beat Games says was designed so players can “browse packs easily and add tracks to their music library comfortably with just a few clicks and with their headsets on.”

The new music pack is decidedly a step in the right direct in terms of more high intensity music, although we were definitely hoping for some more variety in genres (I personally was hoping for some K-POP and metal). Going with a single record label does have its advantages though in terms of navigating usage rights; it seems Beat Games is still playing it safe in order to provide a quantity and quality of music to further support one of top-performing VR games as of late.
