For today’s livestream we’re playing realistic military sim VR shooter, Onward on Oculus Quest! If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Onward aims to be the ultimate VR FPS for those after an authentic-style military simulation. The PC version excels in this regard and even though the Quest version is downgraded, it’s still a blast. It also features cross-play with PC for all game modes!

Our Onward on Oculus Quest VR livestream is planned to start at about 10:30 AM PT and will last for around an hour or two, give or take, depending partially on how well-behaved my small toddler child will be while left alone. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll be streaming from my Oculus Quest, which will be using a Chromecast Ultra wireless cast signal, plugged into a Capture Card, to get the footage to my PC while Jamie and Zeena join in via webcam to hang out and help out with chat.

You can watch the stream embedded via YouTube right here. Set a reminder if you’re reading this early!

You can see lots of our past archived streams over in our YouTube playlist or even all livestreams here on UploadVR and various other gameplay highlights. There’s lots of good stuff there so make sure and subscribe to us on YouTube to stay up-to-date on gameplay videos, video reviews, live talk shows, interviews, and more original content!

And please let us know which games or discussions you want us to livestream next! We have lots of VR games in the queue that we would love to show off more completely.

Iron Man VR Launch Day Livestream: Watch Us Suit Up On PSVR!

For today’s livestream we’re diving into Iron Man VR, the newly released PSVR-exclusive superhero action game from Camouflaj and Sony. If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Our review went live for Iron Man VR yesterday and I called it “an absolute triumph” of a VR game. It takes a while to get used to the controls and everything, but once you do, it’s absolutely liberating to lift off as Tony Stark in the iconic armor and take to the skies. There are lots of weapons to pick from and it packs a satisfying 8-hour campaign.

The stream is planned to start at about 11:00 AM PT and will last for around two hours. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll be donning the suit in a fresh game, starting from scratch. By this time next week I hope to have completed my second complete playthrough from start to finish, live, on our channel! Jamie and/or Zeena will likely join to hang out and help out with chat.

You can see the full Iron Man VR stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up:

Social VR Music Platform ‘Wave’ Raises $30M In Series B Funding

Wave, a social VR music platform that hosts virtual concerts and live performances inside virtual reality, has raised $30 million of Series B funding. They’ve raised $40 million to date.

Wave’s funding is split up between a wide assortment of companies. According to VentureBeat:

“Maveron led the new round, with a big chunk of the funding provided by Griffin Gaming Partners. Additional investors in the round include NTT DoCoMo Ventures, Avex, Superfly Ventures, Convivialite Ventures, and Raised in Space. Entrepreneurs Scooter Braun, Alex Rodriguez, Superfly cofounder Rick Farman, and Twitch cofounder Kevin Lin also participated in the round.

Wave’s existing investors include RRE Ventures, Upfront Ventures, the Venture Reality Fund, GFR Fund, and GC Tracker Fund.”

Recently, Wave announced a series of virtual concerts under the “One Wave” name featuring acts like John Legend and will allow performers to create their own digital avatars similar to VRChat characters.

Another popular way to experience live music events in VR is through livestream footage in virtual stadiums, like Oculus Venues. Big artists such as Billie Eilish have performed in Oculus Venues with mixed results.

“You can put on a headset and listen to Coachella live, but no one wants to do that,” Phil Sanderson said, managing director at Griffin Gaming Partners, one of Wave’s latest investors . “The only way to do this is to capture the emotion of the crowd, which is effectively what Wave does by creating an interactive experience. It’s so much better — if you were watching Travis Scott in Fortnite, it would be so much better if you could see his facial expressions and interact with him in real time.”

For context, Sanderson was the first investor in Pandora and also invested in Song Pop and is an frequent attendee at music festivals.

For more insight into how Wave got started, check out our feature story from 2016 on the founding of the company and its early experiences in VR. And for more on Wave and what’s coming up next, check out the app on Steam, Oculus Home, or the company’s official website.

Watch UploadVR Play Firewall Zero Hour Tonight Live With Devs And Kinda Funny!

For today’s livestream we’re playing the hardcore tactical first-person shooter, Firewall Zero Hour, with the developers from First Contact Entertainment and our friends over at Kinda Funny! If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Firewall Zero Hour is one of the only VR games that has sustained a large chunk of its popularity over a year after its initial release. It’s a hardcore tactical squad-based FPS that pits two teams of four against one another in a battle to either capture or defend an important laptop. We reviewed the game highly at release and have continued to cover its ongoing updates ever since.

The stream is planned to start at about 6:00PM PT and will last for about an hour or so. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and we’ll actually be joined by the developers themselves as well as our friends over at Kinda Funny, such as Greg Miller. We’ll be playing in live, open lobbies so if you want to come across us meet us on the battlefield, just join up in a public match and maybe we’ll run into you:

Ironlights Livestream: Epic VR Multiplayer Melee Dueling

For today’s livestream we’re trying out the upcoming 1v1 multiplayer VR melee dueling game from E McNeill, Ironlights! If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

I’ve been eager to get my hands on Ironlights in its pre-release state, the latest VR game from industry veteran E McNeill ever since it was first announced. We’ve already published some early hands-on impressions, complete with versus gameplay footage, but I haven’t tried it out until today for myself.

Essentially the premise here is that it’s a 1v1 VR dueling game. There are some NPC enemies to fight and train against, but the core of the experience is the competitive multiplayer. What makes things feel especially clever is that, to balance and maintain intensity, combat is split between attacking and defending in slow-motion. It’s pretty rad. After a successful Kickstarter the game is due to release on Quest and PC VR headsets later this year.

The stream is planned to start at about 1:30PM PT and will last for about an hour or so. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll be facing off against Ian Hamilton live. Harry might join us as well via Discord to help out with chat. You can see the full stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Livestream: Revisiting A Classic (Without Mods)

For today’s livestream we’re going to return to the land of the Nords in Tamriel: Skyrim! The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the greatest games ever made and the immersive potential in VR is a true sight to behold. If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

I have been wanting to return to Skyrim VR for a long time and I figured with things slowing down a bit this month, now is as good a time as ever. The Elder Scrolls VR: Skyrim is one of my favorite all-time games and playing it in VR is pure magic. It’s far from the best implementation of VR from the standpoint of best practices to aid immersion and has really bad UI design and interaction for a VR game, but its scope and brilliance can’t be overstated.

We have actually streamed Skyrim VR quite a lot here at UploadVR. Back when it first came out on PC we did several streams, many of which featured mods. But for today we’re going to take it back to the original, vanilla version of Skyrim in VR. It’s been a while so I need to get my feet wet again.

The stream is planned to start at about 2:00PM PT and will last for about two hours. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and Harry will (probably) join me via Discord to help out with chat. You can see the full stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up:

Zero Caliber VR FPS Livestream: Realistic Military Shooter

For today’s livestream we’re going to dive into the slick and realistic VR FPS, Zero Caliber. It’s a modern military focused FPS with solo gameplay across various maps, in addition to co-op and forthcoming PvP modes. If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Miss me? I haven’t streamed in almost two months but we’re getting back to it now!

Today we’re diving into the realistic military shooter, Zero Caliber! It uses a bunch of different guns across various maps to pit you against waves of enemies. There is co-op as well, which you can watch here if you’d like, but today we’re focusing on single player as we check out new maps and content. It’s been a while since we’ve played!

Bear with me, I haven’t played this game in like a year. The stream is planned to start at about 1:30PM PT and will last for about two hours. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and Harry will join me via Discord to help out with chat. You can see the full stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up, or find it here on this page:
