Terror Comes Closer With IT: Float VR Experience

The works of Stephen King have been scaring readers for decades. One of the author’s most iconic novels, IT, has received several adaptations, including a TV mini series and a film. A new movie adaptation is coming to cinemas soon, and a spin-off virtual reality (VR) experience titled IT – Float: A Cinematic VR Experience.

IT tells the story of a town in Maine where children have begun to disappear. A group of children known as ‘The Loser Club’ due to their outcast status, face their own deepest, darkest terrors as they are faced with the evil clown Pennywise, who has been responsible for the disappearances and who is, in reality, something much older and more terrifying that a creepy man in clown makeup.

Warner Bros. Who are the studio behind the film have released a trailer for the VR experience, which will allow viewers to meet the sinister clown and take a trip into the sewers of Derry, the small town in Maine where the story takes place.

The movie stars Bill Skarsgård as the clown Pennywise, the central villain, who also plays a crucial role in the VR experience. Users who wish to try the IT: Float VR experience can go to the IT Movie website. The video can be watched on a VR headset using YouTube 360, Facebook 360, Littlstar, Samsung VR or Jaunt VR, or can be watched as a 360-degree film on desktop or smartphone.

The IT movie will be released in cinemas on 8th September, 2017. The trailer for the experience can be viewed below.
