AMD, Foundry and HP Collaborate on VR Bound’s Inaugural VR Awards

Earlier this year VR Bound announced the inaugural VR Awards 2017, celebrating outstanding achievements within the virtual reality (VR) industry. While the dates have slightly changed since that first announcement, today the organiser has revealed that AMD, Foundry and HP have all partnered together to back the awards.

“Today marks the day of an exciting announcement with several companies that are passionate about seeing immersive technologies flourish and prosper. We will continue to stand by our mission to recognise and celebrate achievement in VR, opening up more possibilities each day,” said Daniel Colaianni, co-founder, VR Bound, in a statement.

Nominations now open for International Industry VR Awards

Virtual reality (VR) hardware comparison website VR Bound announced it’s upcoming awards ceremony a couple of weeks ago and now they have opened up nominations for the available categories.

Nominations opened on 13th March and will close on 1st May 2017. Any nominated products or services must be released with a consumer version by 1st June. You can register to nominate by visiting the VR Bound Awards official webpage.

VR Award Categories - Standard

VR Bound has confirmed the names of the judging panel, which will consist of industry figures such as Tom Emrich of Super Ventures, Unity Technologies senior evangelist Josh Naylor, Dr Jo Twist CEO of UKIE, Dominic Collins of Jaunt VR and Director of The Realities Centre/VR entrepreneur Thomas Gere.

Tickets are already available from the official website. A standard ticket will cost £120 GBP, a table ticket for ten will be £1080, or a VIP table ticket is £2180. All tickets include a 3-course dinner, champagne and entertainment while the VIP ticket also gets holders access to the VIP after party and a range of other benefits.

The awards will take place on 23rd September, 2017 at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London.

VR Bound Announce International Industry VR Awards

Virtual reality (VR) hardware comparison website VR Bound have just announced an awards ceremony to celebrate outstanding achievement in the VR industry. The black-tie event will feature some of the biggest industry names and is promising a night of entertainment and celebration.

Judging for the awards is being undertaken by experienced experts in the VR industry who will judge the 12 overarching categories as follows:

VR Hardware of the year

VR Game of the year

Innovative VR Company of the year

VR experience of the year

Most Creative use of Marketing in VR

Interactive VR Media / Film of the Year

Nominations will be open between the 13th March and 1st May 2017 and nominees from all areas of VR have been invited to participate by sharing products they believe are award-worthy.

The event will be held in Central London on the 23rd September 2017. There are only 300 tickets available, however, and are expected to sell quickly.

Co-founder of VR Bound Daniel Colaianni said of the event; “The VR Awards to us is all about recognizing achievement throughout the industry and not just in content. We are creating a diverse platform for the industry whether it be the headsets we wear or the innovative companies that drive forward the industry. [sic]”
