Humble VR Sale Sees Big Discounts For Skyrim VR, Superhot & More

A new VR sale on the Humble Store has cropped up that’s offering some pretty big discounts on some prominent PC VR games.

It seems like it’s sale time of the year, because this new Humble VR Sale is running at the same time as the Oculus Summer Sale, and even features some of the same titles too. This Humble sale is only set to last a little while longer though, wrapping up at 10am PST on August 6th, whereas the Oculus Summer Sale runs until the end of August 9.

Perhaps the biggest bargain in the Humble VR Sale is on Skyrim VR, which is 70% off and down to just $17.99. Skyrim VR remains one of the most popular and iconic VR experiences to date, and it’s rare to see it come down in price so heavily. Bethesda’s other VR title, Fallout 4 VR, is discounted down 70% as well, available for $17.99.

If you’re looking something more crime-based (in which case we’re worried about you), L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files is 50% off, bringing it down to just $14.99. Or if sci-fi is your more your jam, then you could check out Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, down 30% for $20.99, or Borderlands 2 VR, down 50% for $24.99.

Superhot is also available for just $14.99, down 40%, which might be a good option if you don’t feel like buying it in a bundle with Pistol Whip in the Oculus Summer Sale.

While all these games are on sale through the Humble Store, you’ll receive a Steam key to redeem the game after purchase. Unlike the Oculus Summer Sale where your purchases can only be used with Oculus hardware, redeeming a game on Steam will let you use the game on any SteamVR-compatible headset.

It’s also worth mentioning that all of these Humble discounts are for PC VR versions of games only, and not for the Oculus Quest. Even if the game supports cross-buy between Rift and Quest, you won’t get that advantage from these games — cross-buy only applies to PC VR games bought on the Oculus Store, and not Steam versions of games.

You can view the full list of discounted games in the Humble VR Sale here, which runs until 10am PST on August 6.

Humble Fight For Racial Justice Bundle Includes Elite Dangerous, With VR Compatibility

The new Humble Fight For Racial Justice Bundle is raising money for relevant organisations in light of the Black Lives Matter movement, and it includes a copy of Elite Dangerous on Steam, which is compatible with VR headsets. You can pay $30 or more for the bundle, all of which goes to relevant organisations and includes games totaling $1,200 in value.

In light of the Black Lives Matter movement, there have been a number of different game bundles popping up in order to raise money for relevant organisations and charities. The first prominent one was the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on Itch.io, which ended yesterday and including 1,741 games for just $7 — it raised over $8.1M. However, while we didn’t spot any high profile VR titles in that bundle that we could tell, the Humble Fight For Racial Justice Bundle does include Elite Dangerous, which does have a VR mode. So far Humble Bundle has already raised $1.6M with over five days to go.

The chosen organisations for the bundle are the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Race Forward, and The Bail Project. Unlike other Humble Bundles, all of the proceeds go to these organisations, with no split for the Humble organisation or the game developers. By default, the amount you choose to pay is split between the three organisations equally, but you can adjust the split to your preference.

You can donate any amount for the bundle, but if it’s under $30 USD you won’t receive the associated games and it will just be considered a straight donation to the organisations. Any donation of $30 USD or above will grant you a copy of Elite Dangerous and heaps of other non-VR PC games too. You can view the full list here.

The bundle is for an excellent cause and you get a ridiculous amount of games for the price. It’s also a great time to get into Elite Dangerous if you haven’t already — the game just received a new Fleet Carriers update.

The Humble Fight For Racial Justice Bundle is available online now for a limited time.

Humble VR Bundle Clears $1 Million In Payments For Incredible Games Deal

The Humble VR Bundle cleared $1 million in payments for its incredible packages of games.

Several days remain to buy the game bundles which unlock at three tiers. The least expensive starts at $1 and includes Smashbox Arena and Cosmic Trip. Things start to get interesting if you pay more than $14.28 to add Gorn, Budget Cuts, and Space Pirate Trainer. Exceed $15, though, and you also add Superhot VR and Moss.

The bundle represents an incredible savings on a number of great games and, as of this writing, more than 70,000 bundle purchases have been made. The bundles also cleared $1 million in total payments, according to the Humble Bundle site. Soundtracks for some of the games are also included as a bonus.

When you make a Humble VR Bundle purchase you can choose how to distribute the funds to publishers and a charity of your choice. The games are delivered as Steam keys which makes it very easy to distribute any of the ones you already own to other people. After all, some people are likely to be getting into PC VR for the first with the March 23 release of Half-Life: Alyx and they’ll be looking for more games to play afterward. The titles in this bundle represent a fantastic introduction to several genres. We know a lot of VR gamers already have some of these games so, in addition to donating to a charity and supporting development, you could also help introduce new headset owners to some games they might have missed in the first few years of consumer VR.

Huge Humble VR Sale Discounts Walking Dead, Budget Cuts 2 And More

Not content with the amazing VR Humble Bundle that went on sale earlier this week? This expanded Humble VR Sale offers some of the best discounts we’ve seen in a while.

Headlining the sale is a slice off of The Walking Dead: Saints And Sinners. It’s just a 10% discount, taking it down to $44.99, but the game only released a few weeks ago. Plus we happen to think it’s quite excellent.

“Despite its minor issues like relatively boring environments, repetitive mission structure, and human AI that leaves a bit to be desired, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is easily the best zombie game in VR to date,” we said in our review. “The shooting mechanics feel heavy and impactful and melee is extremely violent in just the right ways. There’s plenty of depth between the survival systems and crafting mechanics and it packs a large and dense adventure unlike anything else out there.”

There’s also 15% off the recently-released Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency, taking it to $25.48. We also really liked that one.

If you’re looking for deeper savings, how about $17.49 for the excellent Red Matter? Or $11.99 for Duck Season, the Boneworks precursor from Stress Level Zero? A special shout out, as always, goes to A Fisherman’s Tale, too, which is available for $9.74.

Overall this is a really decent sale. You should especially consider taking a look if you’re planning to get a PC VR headset within the next month to play Half-Life: Alyx. Yesterday Valve gave word that the long-awaited title would be arriving March 23, so you’ll have some time to clear through anything you buy this week.

Humble VR Bundle Offers Up ‘Superhot’, ‘Space Pirate Trainer’, ‘Moss’ and More for $15

Recently picked up a PC VR headset and looking to add a handful of top rated VR games to your library? Between now and February 25th a special Humble VR Bundle is offering up Cosmic Trip, Smashbox Arena, Gorn, Budget Cuts, Space Pirate Trainer, SUPERHOT VR, and Moss for as little as $15.

Humble Bundle is a digital storefront which sells game bundles where you not only ‘pay what you want’, but also get to decide which portion of your payment goes to game creators and which portion goes to charity.

Now through February 25th, a special Humble VR Bundle is offers up $160 worth of VR games for as little as $15. Here’s everything that’s in the bundle and the price tiers:

All of the games in the bundle are VR exclusive and activated through Steam.

Considering the value of the games in the bundle, Humble Bundle suggests a $25 as a fair price, but it’s up to you. At checkout you can also decide how your money is distributed between game creators and charity; this particular bundle is supporting WIRES and the Call of Duty Endowment, but you can also pick among thousands of other charities instead.

New Humble VR Bundle Provides Incredible Deal For Superhot, Moss And More

A new VR Humble Bundle is now live, providing an enormous discount on some fantastic VR games such as Superhot VR, Moss, Gorn, Space Pirate Trainer and Budget Cuts.

For those unaware, the Humble Bundle is an online store that bundles several games together, allowing the customer to choose the price they pay while also supporting a charity. While customers can choose to pay as little as $1 for a bundle, a very low payment will typically not include the best games of the bundle. The middle tier, which is usually determined by paying more than the current average price paid for the bundle, provides some good options, while the highest tier, which is reached by paying more than a predetermined amount, will include the ‘best’ games of the bundle.

For the Humble VR Bundle, the ‘pay $1 or more’ tier includes Cosmic Trip and Smashbox Arena. The ‘pay more than average’ tier, which at the time of writing is $13.98 or more, includes Gorn, Budget Cuts and Space Pirate Trainer. These are all fantastic games, especially at the $13.98 price for all three. When bought individually, the games cost $20, $30 and $15 respectively, so paying only $14 for all three is a huge savings.

However, the real bang for your buck is in the ‘pay more than $15’ tier, which includes all of the games from the other tiers plus Superhot VR and Moss. Superhot VR is priced at $25 on Steam, with Moss up at $30. So to be able to purchase both those games, along with the games from the other tiers, for just $15 is a fantastic deal.

If you do purchase the bundle, you’ll receive redeemable Steam keys for each game. This also means that if you have one or two of the games already, you can simply redeem the codes for the titles that you don’t own and send the codes for the others to a friend who also owns a VR headset.

Every Humble Bundle also allows you to choose where your money goes, between the publishers, a selected charity for the month, and to the Humble Bundle organizers themselves. The split is usually set by default to favor the publishers, with a small cut to Humble and the chosen charity, however, you can customize this however you want. This month’s charity is WIRES, who support the rehabilitation and preservation of Australian wildlife in New South Wales.

The Humble VR Bundle is available to purchase now, and will remain available for roughly two weeks.

New Humble Software Bundle Lets You Learn VR & AR Game Dev In Unity

A new Humble Software Bundle is now available offering a bunch of courses and projects that aim to teach you how to develop for VR and AR using Unity.

As with all Humble Bundles, there are a variety of different tiers that unlock more content the more you pay, with the more enticing content usually locked behind the higher tiers. The VR and AR Game Dev bundle includes a bunch of projects that cover developing for VR and AR using Unity, along with a few games to play as examples. The lower tiers, starting at just $1, have projects that deal with basic beginner concepts, whereas the higher tiers, topping out at $20, feature more advanced stuff.

All of the projects are designed by Zenva Academy, a group known for development courses and projects on topics like coding, web development, machine learning and heaps more. Each of the VR and AR Zenva projects included in the bundle usually sell for around $50 – considering the top tier unlocks 24 courses and some additional games for only $20, the savings over the regular pricing appears to be pretty substantial.

You can view all the tiers available, along with the projects and games included, on the bundle page. The top tier even unlocks projects involving some more specific aspects of development, such as using Oculus avatars, making a third-person game and using 360-degree videos and photos.

I know we have quite a few readers on the site who are also developers, so let us know what you think of the bundle in the comments. Do you see the courses being useful, either to you personally or to other aspiring developers? Let us know down below!

Massive PC VR Savings To Be Had In Humble Bundle VR Sale

Massive PC VR Savings To Be Had In Humble Bundle VR Sale

Humble Bundle’s latest sale is all about VR, and it’s got some frankly brilliant bargains.

Let’s start with 50% off of Budget Cuts, shall we? Neat Corp’s stealth ’em up might not have been entirely to our liking but it’s grown a hearty fanbase. The same can be said for Bethesda’s Doom VFR, which is all 50% off. Killing Floor: Incursion, L.A. Noire, To The Top and Sprint Vector also get the half price treatment.

But let’s talk about some really excellent deals. Stuff that you might not have played before? We’ll kick off with 66% off of Torn, taking it to $10.19. This is a visually-rich and thematically interesting little adventure with some great puzzles. At this price you’d be mad to miss it.

If it’s some more substantial VR puzzling you’re looking for then you have to pick up The Talos Principle VR. Croteam’s superb existential brain teaser is not only a pitch-perfect port but it offers the entire DLC too. For 85% off (!), you can’t miss this at $5.99. Oh, and Star Trek: Bridge Crew at 70% off ($11.99) is a steal too.

Rounding things off, an early 10% sale for the excellent A Fisherman’s Tale is appreciated. The excellent The Exorcist: Legion VR is also offering its entire five-part series for 20% off ($19.96).

If you’ve just picked up a PC VR headset then this sale is a great place to start. And, if you’re planning to get a Vive Cosmos or the rumored Rift S this year, you might want to consider some early purchases too.

Humble Bundle is a digital storefront which first began in 2010 as an effort to offer collections of videogames at a price determined by the customer. This idea was later expanded into various offers including music, comics and, as in the this case, books.

The limited-time offer includes several virtual reality textbooks which cover various areas of VR, AR and MR development. The four digital textbooks are worth $1,072 (USD), which allows customers to pay as little at $1 to get hold of the bundle.

Included in the bundle is Learning Web-based Virtual Reality by Srushtika Neelakantam and Tanay Pant, Processing for Android by Andres Colubri, Develop Microsoft HoloLens Apps Now by Allen G. Taylor and Humanity 2.0 by Steve Fuller.

Customers can pay and additional $8 or more for some additional texts, which includes Human Factors in Augmented Reality Environments by Weidong Huang, Leila Alem and Mark A. Livingston, Virtual Reality and Animation for MATLAB Simulink Users for Nassim Khaled, Feeling Present in the Physical World and in Computer-Mediated Environments by John Waterworth and Guiseppe Riva, Beginning Windows Mixed Reality Programming by Sean Ong and Pro Processing for Images and Computer Vision with OpenCV by Bryan WC Chung.

An additional $15, another six textbooks are unlocked, Echoes of Other Worlds: Sound in Virtual Reality by Tom A Garner, Augmented Reality Art by Vladimir Geroimenko, Being virtual Reality by Frank Steinicke, Augmented Reality by Jon Peddie, Learn Unity Android Game Development by Adam Sinicki and Envisioning Holograms by M Pell.

Further information can be found on the Humble Bundle website, but the offer is only available for a limited time. VRFocus will be sure to bring you news on future coverage on offers involving VR and immersive technology.
