Three companies are better than one when it comes to 360 degree video content, and that’s why Digital Domain, an influential visual effects studio, has now announced its partnership with Gyro AS and Warner Bros. AS to distribute the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 360 and virtual reality (VR).
The stream will be free, and it will be available to view online or on the Digital Domain VR app. Those who will be featuring during the concert are Halsey, Highasakite, Marcus & Martinus, A-Ha, and Kygo, with hosts such as Conan O’Brien in the concert and Derek Muller on YouTube.
“We knew we’d need a partner alongside Gyro with both the technical knowhow and expertise to seamlessly produce and broadcast an event like this live in 360° to an audience around the world,” said Odd Arvid Stromstad, Managing Director, Warner Bros. Norway in a press release. “Digital Domain is a leading global technology and entertainment content producer, and we look forward to sharing this significant event and sharing the message of peace.”
“With their industry-leading virtual reality techniques and proprietary technology, we’re excited to be partnering with Digital Domain,” said Kristian Kirkvaag, Executive Producer, Gyro. “Our history with experience-based communication and our production capabilities make Digital Domain an ideal strategic fit, and we look forward to expanding possibilities as well as their capabilities across neighboring regions.”
It will be taking place on 11th December at 7pm CET.
