Gravity-Driven VR Puzzler Gravitational Hits PSVR, PC VR Next Week

After a lengthy delay, gravity-focused VR puzzler, Gravitational, arrives on PSVR and PC VR next week.

The game from Brazil-based Electric Monkeys arrives on both platforms on November 11. An Oculus Quest version hasn’t yet been announced, though it’s always possible we see that later down the line. Check out the new story-focused trailer for the game below which shows off plenty of new gameplay.

Gravitational casts players as Sebastian, a physically-challenged scientist that uses a wheelchair. Sebastian specializes in gravity-defying technology and works for a giant corporation named Gravcorp (man, these people really like gravity). When his work goes wrong, he’s forced to undergo a challenging journey to the facility’s reactor to shut it down.

As the trailer shows, that means using handheld devices to move objects and make paths as well as dive into zero gravity areas. We’ll be interested to see exactly what types of challenges Electric Monkeys throws our way.

If you’re planning to play on PC then you can already sample the game via a free SteamVR demo.

Grab your flying broom and compete across more than ten tracks whilst unlocking customisation options.

Gravitational Is A Gravity-Defying Puzzler For PSVR And PC VR

Gravity-defying puzzler Gravitational is coming to PSVR and PC VR very soon.

The VR title from developer Studica Solution will arrive on July 13th. Perp Games has also teamed up with the studio to release a boxed version of the game on July 16th. Check it out in the trailer below.

In the game, you play as a scientist named Sebastian, who uses a wheelchair. When his work at GraviCorp threatens to cause major damage, Sebastian travels through the facility, manipulating gravity to save the day. That means creating zero gravity areas to help you climb through environments, making new platforms and more.

If you’re on PC you can already try a demo of Gravitational over on Steam, where the game has official implementation for the HTC Vive (though we’d imagine other headsets work too). The game’s also been winning awards including at this month’s Big Festival, where it took home the ‘People’s Choice Award’ as well as receiving an honorable mention for the ‘Big Impact and Diversity’ category.

Gravitational to get Digital & Physical Launch in July for PlayStation VR

Gravitational

Perp Games, the British publisher behind numerous PlayStation VR titles hitting retail locations has announced the launch date for Gravitational in conjunction with Studica Solution and Electric Monkeys. Already winning several awards, Gravitational is coming to PlayStation VR in July, in both digital and physical editions.

Gravitational

Having picked up The Itamaraty Social Impact Games Award last year and the People’s Choice Award during the Big Festival 2021 this month, Gravitational is a physics-based puzzle videogame set in a future where gravity can be manipulated. You play Sebastian, a scientist at GraviCorp, one of many companies developing gravitational travel and control systems.

An incident occurs where the main reactor core collapses and it’s up to Sebastian to find a way through and stop the catastrophe. Not only will you have to solve the various puzzles on route but locomotion is entirely wheelchair-based, with the option of using motorised or manual control methods. These are then combined with zero-g segments for a fully immersive puzzle experience.

Gravitational has made a huge impact since its announcement and we are incredibly proud to be working with such a talented team as Electric Monkeys,” said Rob Edwards, Managing Director of Perp Games in a statement. “Gravitational is an incredibly fun game, that makes you think about the world around you.”

Electric Monkeys and Perp Games will launch Gravitational for PlayStation VR on 13th July 2021 digitally, whilst the physical retail version will arrive a few days later on 16th July. The videogame will also be released for PC VR headsets in 2021 with a demo currently available on Steam for HTC Vive. For further updates on Gravitational, keep reading VRFocus.
