Gaze Coin Is Selling Virtual Real Estate On Mars

Cryptocurrency are the hot topic recently and the technology works hand-in-hand with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences offering unique opportunities for developers to create interesting applications. Now, Gaze Coin have announced an initial land offering (ILO) funding round for an open VR universe survival videogame, in which players will be able to buy virtual real estate in two cities located on a digital replica of Mars.

Gaze Coin

The two cities that will be up for purchase are going to form the base station for the company’s open VR universe survival videogaming that will reward players in Gaze Coin for exploring the connected VR metaverse. The real estate sale creates a new blockchain-driven model for financing videogames by selling a finite amount of virtual real estate inside the videogame to investors. The investors will then earn ‘gaze’ (engagement) based rewards from player engagement occurring on their newly purchased property. This means that those properties within high traffic areas will be valuable both in terms of earnings and player interaction.

Furthermore, property owners may also use an ERC721 “rent” token tied to their property to gain trackable share of revenues earned by tenants. The sale uses finite land models to establish the two virtual cities meaning investors will need to act fact to find the ideal location on the red planet. One of the cities will host a Battle Royale style videogame and casinos with the other housing a red light district. Both cities are inspired by real geographical locations on Mars and the whole initiative has been inspired by Elon Musk’s challenge to entrepreneurs to create business on Mars, issued in March of this year at SXSW 2018.

Gaze Coin

Though the number of property locations available to purchase within the two cities is finite, the entirety of Mars is open to other developers who will be able to establish other cities using X-Y-Z coordinates provided by the platform from Gaze Coin. These locations will be able to link to the main two cities via the Gaze Coin Wormhole Transport System.

Though looking to jump on this exciting opportunity will be able to do so starting September 16th, 2018 at 12:00 (EST) until November 30th. During this time the ‘Fantasy’ city will be open to investors, showcasing its red light district. EDM DJ Don Diablo Launches AR/VR Cryptocurrency Hexcoin

Late in 2017, a new blockchain-powered method of monetisation for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) called Gaze Coin was launched with an initial coin offering (ICO). Now a renowned EDM DJ is using the Gaze Coin platform to launch a cryptocurrency token for a VR/AR world, called Hexcoin.

Dutch DJ Don Diablo is well known as a music producer, DJ and influencer, who has worked on producing remixes for Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Madonna and Coldplay, among others and is regarded as a significant figure in the Future House music scene. Hexcoin is Don Diablo’s attempt to create a monetisation platform for a shared VR/AR world called Hexagonia.

Hexcoin is built on Gaze Coin, a monetisation platform that allows for VR and AR content to be monetised based upon what the user spends time looking at. By using eye-tracking technology to measure how long users spend looking at or interacting with objects in the virtual world, this information can be converted into a monetary value.

Hexagonia is planned to be a shared VR/AR world driven by user attention and interaction, merged with cryptocurrency in order to provide a space for fans of Don Diablo’s work and grow the audience in new directions.

“As a creator of electronic music, I’ve always been engaged in technology and how it can connect my art to the outside world,” Don Diablo said. “With HEXCOIN and HEXAGONIA, I see a future where the line between fan, artist and technology blurs, and creativity is unleashed in powerful, measurable ways. I’m extremely excited to welcome Hexagonians and future fans to the next level of technology in music.”

“We are thrilled to back Don’s vision for HXG and HEXAGONIA,” said Jon Peters, CEO and founder of Gaze Coin. “We will provide him with the templates he needs to create the world’s first hyper-reality entertainment channel. Don is a visionary and the first entertainment mega-brand to implement this.”

Initial Coin Offering For VR/AR Monetization Platform Is Launched

A blockchain-powered monetization platform designed for use with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) called Gaze Coin will be launching its Initial Coin Offering (ICO) on 28th November, 2017.

Gaze Coin uses eye tracking to calculate the amount of time users spend looking at or interacting with various objects and areas within VR or AR content. This information can then be converted into a monetary value and the advertiser can be charged and the content owner or creator can be rewarded for the content thus consumed.

“For too long, VR/AR monetization has been constrained by last-century models that work for web and mobile, but miss the mark terribly in VR/AR, where literally everything you see or touch can be monetized,” said Gaze Coin founder Jonny Peters. “We designed Gaze Coin to bridge the gap between the promise of virtual worlds and the ability for brands and content owners to capitalize on it, at the heart of how the medium is actually consumed.”

Peters integrated the Gaze Coin idea into a VR experience called Dream Channel VR as part of a proof-of-concept test. Dream Channel VR was featured at the Cannes Film Festival and will soon be available for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Samsung Gear VR. Dream Channel VR was created to demonstrate the idea that for VR/AR advertising to succeed, it must integrate seamlessly into the content, and become indistinguishable from the content itself.

“As consumers increasingly embrace VR and AR, they expect brands and media companies to be there with innovative content to capture their imagination.” Peters continued. “Gaze Coin provides the infrastructural backbone of the VR/AR creative economy, delivering the security, parity, exchange mechanisms and material incentive for all stakeholders to ensure creativity can flourish.”

Further information on Gaze Coin can be found on the official website.

VR Film Dream Channel VR Nominated for Screen Producers Australia Awards

An interactive virtual reality (VR) film called Dream Channel VR has been nominated for Best Interactive Film for the Screen Producers Australia Awards 2017, a highly respected and prestigious award among filmmakers.

Dream Channle VR acts as an interactive ‘choose your own adventure’ story. The plot is centres around a gang who steal dreams. The audience enters to world to discover that their own dreams have been stolen, making them the protagonist of the story.

The creator has used his own invention, Blockchain-enabled VR monetisation platform Gaze Coin to allow for seamless advertising and monetisation of Dream Channel VR in a way that is deisgned not to disrupt the immersion of the experience.

“The nomination is recognition for all the hard work in a very innovative space where you are literally feeling around in the dark for an answer. When you find it it’s rewarding,” commented Gaze Coin founder Jonny Peters. “Dream Channel’s strength is its formula for narrative story telling using real actors – all inside a virtual world where audiences interactions and decisions are measured, triggering brand involvement and financing. The mechanic for this is our Gaze Coin virtual currency,”

The Screen Producers Australia Awards ceremony will take place on 16th November in Melbourne.

“This transition from viewer to active participator only happens in VR. Suddenly audiences are thrust into making decisions that affect the narrative outcome. As they use ‘gaze’ to trigger where the want to take the story, this opens up huge opportunities for immersive advertisers to be integrated into this journey,” said Peters referring to the monetisation mechanism that he has created.
