STRIDE Livestream: Free-Running Like Mirror’s Edge VR!

For today’s livestream we’re playing STRIDE, which is basically like Mirror’s Edge VR! If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

A few years ago developers were terrified of letting you move using analog sticks in VR. Now, we’ve got entire teams of developers making games about free-running and wall-jumping across rooftops like in STRIDE. Crazy time to be alive, right? This should be a ton of fun!

STRIDE hits Early Access on PC this week on September 4th.

Our STRIDE livestream is planned to start at about 11:30 AM PT today and will last for around an hour or so, give or take, depending partially on how long my small toddler child decides to behave. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll lbe streaming from an Oculus Rift S two touch controllers. I’m flying solo on this one, pinning chat behind me to check periodically.

Check out the STRIDE stream embedded right here and down below once live:

You can see lots of our past archived streams over in our YouTube playlist or even all livestreams here on UploadVR and various other gameplay highlights. There’s lots of good stuff there so make sure and subscribe to us on YouTube to stay up-to-date on gameplay videos, video reviews, live talk shows, interviews, and more original content!

And please let us know which games or discussions you want us to livestream next! We have lots of VR games in the queue that we would love to show off more completely. Let’s get ready to go!

Five Nights At Freddy’s VR Trailer Gives A Look At Captured Quest Gameplay

Steel Wool Studios released a new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted this week that gives over a minute of Oculus Quest footage.

Even though the game has been out for quite some time on SteamVR and on PSVR, the upcoming Oculus Quest version feels like an opportunity for new life. Just as with many games over the last year, releasing again on Quest is a great opportunity for Five Nights at Freddy’s VR to have a lot of success.

Not only is the standalone Quest a great device in and of itself, but it’s also naturally more shareable and easy to show off as quick demos to people and Five Nights at Freddy’s VR is the perfect game for that. Millions of people are familiar with the franchise from the PC games to the mobile games, so it won’t require a lot of introduction.

This trailer gives us a great glimpse into what the Quest port will look like. Not all Quest ports are created equally, as evidenced by Robo Recall and Red Matter — two ports on completely different ends of the “how close is this to the original” spectrum. But based on this quick look, Five Nights at Freddy’s VR looks like a pretty solid job.

We’ll have our full review, video footage, and livestreams for you to consume with your eyeballs next week. Until then, let us know down in the comments if you plan on playing Five Nights at Freddy’s VR. Why or why not?

Oculus Quest VR Horror Livestream: Layers Of Fear, Affected, And More!

For today’s livestream we’re diving into Layers of Fear VR on Oculus Quest, which just released, as well as checking out some other VR horror titles on the standalone headset like Affected: The Manor. If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Now that Layers of Fear VR is out on Oculus Quest we figured it would be a good time to dive in for good ol’ quality summer scares. In addition to this newly adapted horror adventure we’ve also got a new update for Affected: The Manor, plus Five Nights at Freddy’s VR next week, and a slew of existing games like Dreadhalls, Face Your Fears 2, and The Exorcist VR

The VR horror stream is planned to start at about 11:00 AM PT and will last for around two hours, give or take. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll be streaming from the Quest wirelessly with Jamie and/or Zeena joining via audio call to hang out and help out with chat.

Iron Man VR Launch Day Livestream: Watch Us Suit Up On PSVR!

For today’s livestream we’re diving into Iron Man VR, the newly released PSVR-exclusive superhero action game from Camouflaj and Sony. If you’re curious about how we livestream the way we do then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup.

Our review went live for Iron Man VR yesterday and I called it “an absolute triumph” of a VR game. It takes a while to get used to the controls and everything, but once you do, it’s absolutely liberating to lift off as Tony Stark in the iconic armor and take to the skies. There are lots of weapons to pick from and it packs a satisfying 8-hour campaign.

The stream is planned to start at about 11:00 AM PT and will last for around two hours. We’ll be hitting just our YouTube and I’ll be donning the suit in a fresh game, starting from scratch. By this time next week I hope to have completed my second complete playthrough from start to finish, live, on our channel! Jamie and/or Zeena will likely join to hang out and help out with chat.

You can see the full Iron Man VR stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up:

Asgard’s Wrath Pre-Launch Livestream: Q&A With Review Discussion

Curious about how we livestream the way we do? Then look no further than this handy guide for general tips and this guide specific to our Oculus Quest setup. For today we’re playing Asgard’s Wrath, a new action-adventure VR RPG that releases on October 10th exclusively on Oculus Rift.

It’s been a while! Between Oculus Connect 6, hardware releases, new video initiatives, and in-depth reviews of large experiences, it’s been an extremely busy few weeks. But today we’re finally back again with another livestream, this time of Asgard’s Wrath, planned for today 10/9/19 @3:00PM PT on the UploadVR YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Asgard’s Wrath is by far the largest and most ambitious VR game yet and it earned top marks in our review as the debut for our new five-point scoring scale. For what it’s worth, I personally consider it the best VR game I’ve played to date. It’s got dozens of hours of content, an immensely massive scope, and pulse-pounding combat to keep you on your toes.

The Asgard’s Wrath stream is planned to start around 3:00PM PT today and we’ll aim to last for about an hour or two. We’ll be hitting YouTubeTwitterand Facebook all at once. You can see the full stream embedded via YouTube right here down below once it’s up:

Asgard’s Wrath Gameplay Video Has Swords And Frog-Men

Asgard’s Wrath Gameplay Video Has Swords And Frog-Men

Asgard’s Wrath’s cinematic intro trailer was great, but it left us with plenty of questions. This single-player fantasy role-playing game (RPG) promises 30+ hours of action, but how does it actually play? This new gameplay video gives us some idea.

Oculus Studios Executive Producer Mike Doran posted the clip on Vimeo over the weekend. It’s got nearly two minutes of footage that showcase various gameplay elements, from combat to item gathering.

Asgard’s Wrath 2-11 from Mike Doran on Vimeo.

The game’s combat looks similar to what’s come before. Here we see a sword wielder take down a few zombies, with a brief look at the dismemberment system too. It looks functional for sure but we’re looking forward to seeing how it holds up with more advanced enemies. There’s a lot of other VR staples in here; health is regained by eating food and chests and doors are all opened with realistic interactions.

Surely the highlight of the footage, though, is the sudden appearance of your frog-man ally. He leaps into action to steal a key for you with his tongue (!). Asgard’s Wrath will let you transform animals into companions like this that will join you in battle. It looks like one of the game’s more unique elements and we can’t wait to test it out for ourselves.

We’re not quite sure when Asgard’s Wrath will be launching right now, but we do know it’ll be exclusive to Rift. We’re going to play the game at GDC next month, so we’ll let you know how it’s shaping up.

Hands-on: Erste Eindrücke im Gameplay-Video

See what Galaxis Wars is all about in our new Gameplay Video

In Clear Ink Studios’ new arcade action videogame Galaxis Wars, you’ll take the helm of a starship experiencing space combat. With a clean, sci-fi presentation and satisfying space warfare, it’s a decent investment for your head-mounted display (HMD).

The easily accessible shooter has you firing at waves of hostiles coming from all angles, as you pick off enemies as they come in increasing number and difficulty.

Galaxis Wars

Set in the year 2120, humanity is exploring the universe and have encountered a hostile enemy race – a simple pretence, but one that works. Preparing for combat, Galaxis Wars trains the player to take control of the VX-8700 Combat Drone.

In our review we said; “All in all Clear Ink Studios has created a title that’s a great little time killer. It’s not going to set the VR world on fire with amazing visuals or unique gameplay, but it doesn’t need to. Most players will blast through a bunch of waves, gaining a few upgrades here and there, then challenging a mate to do better. If you’re looking for a solid little title that re-imagines those old vertical shooters, then give Galaxis Wars a look.”

Galaxis Wars is available on Steam right now – if you want to see more of the game, be sure to watch our gameplay trailer below.
