Facebook have released a new update to their Facebook Messenger app that allows users to enjoy full 360-degree photos directly within the app.
Being able to send and receive 360-degree photos directly within the Facebook Messenger app means that users are now able to share more immersive views of the world with friends and family. Panoramic photo sharing is also included in the update but to really share and experience the sights of the world and take advantage of the latest technology, sending 360-degree photos will surely be a popular feature with users.
This new updates also means that the Facebook Messenger app is now one step closer to supporting full virtyal reality (VR) experiences. With 360-degree photos a user can, in theory, use a head-mounted display (HMD) to become immersed in the moment like never before all within the Facebook ecosystem.

To share 360-degree photos in the Facebook Messenger app users simply need to set their device’s camera to panorama mode and snap a photo or capture a 360-degree photo using a 360-photo app or camera. Once taken, simply share it in Facebook Messenger an you would a normal photo and you are done. To view the 360-degree photo, tap on it to open ti and then simply drag the image around or move your device to enjoy the new immersive media directly in Facebook Messenger.
The new 360-degree photos in Facebook Messenger are available all over the world for both iOS and Android users. The high resolution videos are currently only available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK and the US for both iOS and Android users. Make sure to update your app in order to start using these new features.
