Steam Winter Sale 2019 Now Live: Skyrim VR, Fallout 4 VR, Onward, And More Get Heavy Discounts

The weather has changed (or maybe not depending on where you live) which means it’s time for another Steam Sale! This time it’s the Steam Winter Sale 2019 and they’ve got some seriously surprising and deep discounts on amazing VR games.

If you’re the type of person that holds out on buying new games until you can really get a lot of bang for your buck, then you’re in luck because the Steam Winter Sale has a plethora of VR games discounted right now until January 2nd, 2020 at 10AM PT.

You can find the hub page with all of the featured VR deals and sales right here, but you can find even more deals over on the main VR landing page itself.

Oddly enough, even though the featured image art work on the Steam site displays a Valve Index, the hardware itself is not discounted. On top of that, the Index and Quest are both back-ordered all the way into February. As of now, I’d recommend getting a Rift S if you don’t have a VR headset and want a high-quality PC VR experience.

We’ve rounded up a handful of our top picks from this list, listed alphabetically, in USD prices:

Black Friday 2019: Oculus Go $50 Off From Nov. 28 To Dec. 2

This Black Friday Oculus Go is getting some discounts on both the 32GB and 64GB model.

The Oculus Go discounts are just one of many upcoming Black Friday deals for VR. This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 28, which makes Black Friday November 29. ‘Black Friday’ is just a marketing term, though, and doesn’t actually mean the sales start on that Friday.

In many cases in the weeks leading up to the date you’ll find lots of deals already available and even that week many retailers will launch sales on the 28th itself, or even earlier on the 27th, and they’ll carry through until the end of the month.

In terms of the Oculus Go specifically, the 2018-era standalone 3DoF mobile headset is getting some steep discounts.  The 32GB model will be discounted from $199 to just $149 and the 64GB model will be taken down from $249 to $199. The discounts should be available from November 28 until December 2nd, so you’ve only got a few days to snap up a discounted Go if you’ve been eyeing one.

The deals will be available on oculus.com, Amazon and Best Buy. If you’re unfamiliar with VR, keep in mind the Oculus Go is a headset with limited interaction and comfort that’s meant for more entertainment consumption (like watching movies) rather than the active VR games the newer camera-equipped Oculus Quest makes possible.

To check out our roundup of all the other Black Friday deals for other systems, including PC VR headsets, PS VR and the Quest, check out our list here. We will be continually updating the list as more deals pop up, so check back from time to time to see what’s new.

This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 28th, which makes Black Friday November 29th. However, ‘Black Friday’ is just a marketing term nowadays and doesn’t actually mean the sales start on that Friday.

In many cases in the weeks leading up to the date you’ll find lots of deals already available and even that week many retailers will launch sales on the 28th itself or even earlier on the 27th and they’ll carry through until the end of the month. For example, Gamestop is opening its doors this year as early as 3PM on Thanksgiving Day.

Not all deals will be live as of the time of this article going live, but most of the Amazon links should be. Deals from platform holders directly (such as Oculus and HTC) are typically not live until Thursday.
