First Trailer Drops for Skiing VR on Steam

Skiing VR

You might be enjoying the summer weather at the moment but the winter season isn’t too far away and what better way to enjoy those chilly months than with a spot of skiing, digitally, of course. Indie virtual reality (VR) developer DGMA has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming title Skiing VR for PC VR headsets.

Skiing VR

Designed as a skiing simulator with single and multiplayer modes, Skiing VR will offer four gameplay modes for players to compete in. They’ll be able to compete against friends or partake in cooperative competitions, whilst a more arcade-style mode drops coins onto the courses.

These won’t be your average professional ski slopes by the sound of it, with DGMA revealing that skiers will need to keep their wits about them. Courses will include obstacles, bonuses and dangers as players look to secure victory, with wild animals also making an appearance.

When it comes to keeping control the realistic mechanics feature a combination of ski poles and head movement to guide skiers down the slopes. So expect a decent shoulder workout when going for those best times and remember to bend those knees!

Skiing VR

Currently, DGMA expects to launch Skiing VR on both Steam and Oculus stores this October, although no specific date during the month has been mentioned just yet.

Skiing VR will join a slowly growing lineup of VR winter sports titles, with Carve Snowboarding released a few months back for Oculus Quest or there’s Terje Haakonsen’s Powder VR which saw an early access launch last year.

Competition: Win Arcade Shooter Galactic Rangers VR on Steam

It might not be Christmas just yet but VRFocus is still in the mood for giving, so we’ve teamed up with virtual reality (VR) developer DGMA to offer lucky readers the chance to win a Steam code for first-person shooter (FPS) Galactic Rangers VR.

Galactic Rangers VR

DGMA released Galactic Rangers VR via Steam last week for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. A single-player arcade-style experience, the videogame pits you against waves of space pirates whilst armed with a pair of pistols with multiple firing modes. Unleash rocket launchers, laser beams, rapid-fire autocannon and swarm rockets, or deploy shields should any foe get a shot off.

Like any good arcade shooter, there are a bunch of powerups to collect should the space hordes get too much such as a super shield or slow-mo, giving you a much-needed advantage.

The studio has also confirmed that a two-player co-op mode is also in the works so friends can eventually team-up.

Take on the Universe in Arcade Shooter Galactic Rangers VR This Autumn

Last month indie developer DGMA released its first virtual reality (VR) title in the form of Let’s Go! Skiing VRallowing players to race down snow-covered mountains. Its next videogame is an altogether different experience, placing you in the deepest recesses of space to do one thing, shoot at everything, in an experience called Galactic Rangers VR.

Galactic Rangers VR

Looking like Space Pirate Trainer jumped on the Green Goblin’s Goblin Glider and took it into space, Galactic Rangers VR is an action first-person shooter (FPS) designed for that arcade feel.

The story goes that Galactic Rangers help protect the galaxy against any dangerous threats. Enter some mysterious Space Cybernetic Invaders who have begun attacking the outer worlds and it’s your job to shoot them into oblivion with a selection of weaponry. Taking a wave-based format, the guns have various shooting modes depending on your preference, from high-powered laser beams to explosive ordinance.

Whilst taking down enemy robots and the odd wandering asteroid you’ll also be able to utilise various abilities, turning battles in your favour. Powerups such as a super shield and time dilation will be available should the situation require it.

Galactic Rangers VR

“We are thrilled to reveal our product. Not only Galactic Rangers VR is a new approach to traditional FPS genre, but we have some really cool techs behind, such as advanced image stabilisation. You won’t see them, but you’ll notice them. So, just grab your pair of blasters and dive into deep space, blasting away endless waves of enemies as long as you can!,” said Andrey Lukashov, DGMA Chief Technical Officer in a statement.

Currently available to wishlist on Steam, DGMA plan to release Galactic Rangers VR this Autumn for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets, with Rift also getting an Oculus Store version.
