PlayStation ‘Days of Play’ Brings Six Free PSVR 2 Games to Premium Members, $100 Off PSVR 2 Hardware

PlayStation Plus members are in for a treat next month, as Sony is serving up six PSVR 2 games to premium subscribers which are all actually legitimately awesome, and even the chance to nab a headset for $100 off.

Announced in a PlayStation blog post, Sony says that starting June 6th, it’s releasing six bonus titles during the Days of Play celebration ahead of its normal release schedule, which include:

Unfortunately, Sony doesn’t seem to be doing any new hardware bundles for PSVR 2 like it did in years past with the original PSVR. The company is however offering to Plus Members $100 off PSVR 2 and the PSVR 2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle, bringing them to $450 and $500 respectively.

Additionally, PS Plus members who sign in with their PlayStation account and purchase a PS5 or PSVR 2 through direct.playstation.com will get 12 months of Netflix Premium.

PlayStation’s Days of Play celebration begins May 29th at 12:01AM through June 12th at 11:59PM, local time in your region. This also includes timed releases of PS2 games, PS4/PS5 games, and a game trial, all of which you can check out over at the PS blog.

PlayStation ‘Days of Play’ Sale Knocks $50 off PSVR Hardware Bundles & PS4 Pro

Sony is getting ready to host their annual ‘Days of Play’ sale again, and there’s a few deals this time around on newly released hardware bundles that should have you excited.

Announced today in a PS blog post, Sony is knocking off up to $50 off major hardware bundles and games starting June 7th, including:

  • Jet Black 1TB PS4 Pro – $350 (MSRP $400)
  • PlayStation VR bundles – starting at $250 (MSRP $300)
  • DualShock 4 wireless controller (all colors) – starting at $40
  • Days Gone, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, MLB The Show 19 – starting at $20
  • PlayStation Hits games – starting at $10

Sony wasn’t specific on the exact breakdown of PSVR bundle prices, however campaign advertisements show the PSVR + Trover Saves the Universe and Friday Night at Freddy’s VR bundle priced at $250, which is normally priced at $300. That bundle notably excludes PS Move controllers, which can be found for around $100 when bought separately.

If a similar sale price is being applied to the season’s other new PSVR bundle, which includes Blood & Truth and Everybody’s Golf VR, then it may just be the best deal out there for now, potentially slashed down from $350 to $300. This has yet to be confirmed though, although we expect to learn more closer to kickoff.

The sale starts June 7th, and lasts until June 17th. Sony will also be offering continuous digital game deals throughout the sale on the PlayStation Store, as well as deals on PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now.

Sony’s official retailers include Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Walmart, so your best bet is to check those first when the deals drop on the 7th.

New PSVR Bundles Start From $250 For Sony’s Days Of Play Promotion

PSVR bundles sale

Sony’s enticing new PSVR bundles are getting a tasty price drop right out of the gate.

PlayStation’s seasonal Days of Play event, which drops prices on hardware on software alike, returns next month. Featured in the deal are some of the new bundles the company launched yesterday. The pack containing the recently-released Trover Saves The Universe and Five Nights At Freddy’s VR, for example, is down from $299.99 to $249.99. That pack also includes a PlayStation Camera.

That’s not a bad pair of games. We quite liked Trover Saves The Universe when we reviewed it earlier this week. Our verdict on Five Nights At Freddy’s is still out, though.

The full list of deals isn’t known yet, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see the new bundle with Blood & Truth, Everybody’s Golf VR and a pair of Move controllers thrown in too. If you’re in the EU there are a few other choices, though. The PSVR Starter Pack, which includes the camera and PSVR Worlds, goes for €199.99. The frankly far better option is the Mega Pack for €229.99. The extra $30 adds Astro Bot, Skyrim, Doom VFR and Wipeout to your haul. Not bad!

You can, of course, pick up other essential hardware too. A limited edition PS4 Pro will cost $349.99, and DualShock 4 controllers will cost $39.99.

Days of Play runs from June 7th – 17th. That’s over E3! Good thing Sony isn’t showing anything this year otherwise it might have its hands full. Elsewhere in PlayStation land, we’re eagerly picking apart more details on PSVR 2.
