PlayStation VR Tower Defence Title Ancient Amulator Gets Release Date

Publisher Time of Virtual Reality have announced that its co-operative tower defence title Ancient Amulator will be coming to PlayStation VR on the 27th June, 2017.

A first-person tower defence title set in ancient times, players can choose one of four heroes to battle against waves of enemies using the PlayStation Move controllers to be either a Mage, Gunner, Puppeteer or Archer.

Built using Unreal Engine 4, the title is designed to be easy to pick up and play. In order to create a smooth, dynamic experience, it’s even possible to switch hero in mid-battle if the player discovers that a different play style is required. The players can attack magical creatures and mythical monsters of legend using weapons such as a bow, gun or a staff that shoots out magical spells.

Last week a playable demo of Ancient Amulator was released for PlayStation VR owners to try out. The demo allowed users to play as either Archer or Mage with an option of shooting arrows or cutting down enemies with blasts of magic. According to the official website, the Archer is an elf named Lia Ilphukiir from the realm of Alfheim who fights with a longbow, wile the Gunner is a young scientist named Katie Clark who has a steampunk style. Details on the Puppeteer and Mage have not yet been revealed.

Upon release, the title is expected to have two modes; a single player story mode or co-operative multiplayer mode for up to three players. The price point has not yet been confirmed.

An announcement trailer for Ancient Amulator is available to view below.

That’s the same day that Arizona Sunshine is hitting the platform, but based on the gameplay in this clip it will still be worth checking out. The game has different classes of enemies that use guns, magic, and bow and arrows to take down approaching enemies. It’s controller with the PlayStation Move motion controllers.
