PlayStation VR’s Accounting+ Coming to Oculus Rift and HTC Vive

Having released weird comedy title Accounting for HTC Vive back in 2016 Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games followed that with PlayStation VR exclusive Accounting+ in 2017. Today, the studio’s have confirmed that the sequel will now see a PC release including Oculus Rift for the first time.

Accounting+

Described as a ‘nightmare comedy adventure’, the original Accounting+ was twice the size of Accounting and this new SteamVR version will be three times the size of the original, adding even more strange and bizarre content that only Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games know how to create.

Featuring the vocal talents of Justin Roiland (co-creator of Rick and Morty), Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) among others, Accounting+ will have you playing with bombs, cutting weird characters open, playing the bone xylophone and other bizarre activities. And of course there’s the vocal Tree Guy, who’ll be as helpful as last time by swearing at you constantly.

This announcement isn’t just about the PC VR release however, as the PlayStation VR version will also see an update adding the new content. There will be support for German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean with a subtitle system. Additionally, players will be able to skip to levels they’ve already completed using a new ‘Level Loader’.

Accounting+

Accounting+ doesn’t have a release date just yet for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive with the studio’s simply stating ‘coming soon’. As further details are announced VRFocus will let you know.

Trover Saves the Universe Announced For PlayStationVR

During their Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 conference, Sony revealed a new virtual reality (VR) title for PlayStation VR being developed by Squanch Games. The new title, dubbed Trover Saves the Universe will once again give players a chance to experience the crass and outrageous sense of humor of Justin Roiland.

Trover Saves the Universe

The trailer that was shown off for the title points towards it being an action platformer title of sorts, with a colourful design running throughout. Alongside that was the usual humor that players have come to experience from Squanch Games and Justin Roiland. Writing on the website for Trover Saves the Universe, the story is described as: “Your dogs have been dognapped by a beaked lunatic who stuffed them into his eye holes and is using their life essence to destroy the Universe. Does that make sense?”

Squanch Games also worked on the equally crazy title Accounting+ which also released on PlayStation VR following a release on the HTC Vive, and was met with positive praise for its mix of humor and gameplay. This time around it seems that the developer are going for a more traditional gaming experience in the sense of a linear design rather than a number of experiences. The trailer also features a character playing videogames in the bathtub which, as you might expected, did not end to well.
Trover Saves the Universe

Trover Saves the Universe is currently in development for PlayStation VR with a non-VR version noted as well. At this point there is not much in the way of details available for the title but given the work of Justin Roiland and Squanch Games, players can be sure to look forward to a number of memorable moments that will bring with them plenty of laughs throughout. With the story of saving your dogs from being dognapped, there will surely be some interesting gameplay features found within.

As more details become available on Trover Saves the Universe, VRFocus will be sure to bring you all the latest. Ther trailer which was shown off during the Sony E3 2018 conference is available to watch below and for more, keep reading VRFocus.

No Heroes Allowed

No Heroes Allowed! VR

Real-time strategy (RTS) title No Heroes Allowed! VR puts players in the shoes of the God of Destruction who must work towards world domination with the help of your sidekicks Badman and Badmella. VRFocus’ Editor Kevin Joyce previewed the title saying “No Heroes Allowed! VR’s story, as may be assumed from the title, sees the player cast as the bad guy. However the aesthetic of the videogame is perfectly designed for family-friendly gameplay” later adding “No Heroes Allowed! VR provides a compelling RTS experience unique to VR.”

The Inpatient

“The Inpatient looks set to offer an experience completely different to its predecessor Until Dawn – they’re both set in the same universe – a far more tactile tale, where exploring the story is much more key. It might be because of the hospital theme but playing the demo instantly feels very reminiscent of Wilson’s Heart for Oculus Rift and that’s no bad thing. If Supermassive Games can create an engaging storyline and gameplay to go with the impressive visuals then PlayStation VR might have another hit on its hands.” – Read VRFocus’ Senior Staff Writer Peter Graham’s preview of The Inpatient here.

The Inpatient is currently on sale for £23.39 (GBP) down from £29.99 with PlayStation Plus members saving an extra 20%.

VRFC Virtual Reality Football Club

VRFC: Virtual Reality Football Club is a welcome foundation for sports simulations in VR, and with the FIFA franchise now surpassing 25 editions (not including the many spin-offs such as FIFA Street and FIFA World Cup), it’s a wonder to think exactly how much of VRFC: Virtual Reality Football Club will remain in VR football 25 years from now.” – Read VRFocus’ Editor Kevin Joyce’s review of VRFC: Virtual Reality Football Club here.

Time Carnage

Time Carnage

Time Carnage is well-made, and is a fine, competent example of its genre, with some excellent music and sound design, though it ultimately fails to stand out amidst many other similar titles that litter VR videogame libraries. Update for PlayStation VR’s Accounting+ Adds Waterpark Level

Launched in December just in time for Christmas, Accounting+ brought Crows Crows Crows and Squach Games’ weird and wonderful humour to PlayStation VR. Today, the studio have announced the first big update for the title, adding a new Water Park level whilst giving players a new theme.

accountingplus

Neither of them have released much information about what to expect from the new update besides a very brief teaser trailer. While the video goes for a much brighter – and garish – colour scheme than before, where you’d expect lots of water, inflatable giraffes, sun loungers, sunshine and of course that strange cloud looking character that randomly appears, always expect the unexpected. In fact VRFocus can tell you as this time you’re in water-logged back room of a water park in the company of a strange, rambling clown.

The original Accounting launched on HTC Vive back in October 2016 for free, while Accounting+ retails for $11.99 USD/£9.49 GBP on PlayStation VR. There’s no word on whether the PC version will receive the same update as its not had any further additions since launch.

Accounting+ is twice as big as the PC version, featuring the vocal talents of Justin Roiland (co-creator of Rick and Morty), Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) among others. For those that have yet to try Accounting+ it will have you playing with bombs, cutting weird characters open, playing the bone xylophone and other bizarre activities. And of course there’s the vocal Tree Guy, who’ll be as helpful as ever by swearing at you constantly.

PSVR’s Accounting+ Just Got An All New Level For Free

PSVR’s Accounting+ Just Got An All New Level For Free

Accounting+ came to PlayStation VR (PSVR) late last year as an expanded version of the original game on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. But developers Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games aren’t done with it yet.

The slapstick VR game saw a surprise update this week that added a brand new level set in a waterpark. There’s a brief trailer for it below, though it doesn’t give us a whole lot to go on. Judging by Accounting, though, it will involve players doing something stranger as someone even stranger shouts at them.

Also included in the update is a free theme for your PS4. We haven’t seen it for ourselves but if you have small children it might not be the best choice to customize your console with.

Still no word on if/when Accounting+’s extra content will make its way over to the PC VR version of the game, but fingers are still crossed.

Accounting Plus VR: Blutige Buchhalter-Satire

Shooty Fruity VR: Böse Früchtchen greifen an

VR The Dinner Duo

PSX 2017 Hands-On: Accounting+ Is Much More Than Just A PSVR Port

PSX 2017 Hands-On: Accounting+ Is Much More Than Just A PSVR Port

The first time I got the chance to play Accounting, the debut VR game from Squanch Games (then Squanchtendo) in collaboration with Crows, Crows, Crows, I couldn’t help but laugh. Even though Justin Roiland, Tanya Watson, and William Pugh were all being interviewed in the same room while I was playing, it was physically impossible for me to not laugh.

Luckily that sense of pure, distilled humor and brilliance is also in Accounting+, a newly announced PSVR exclusive, but this time it seems like there is just a whole lot more of it to go around. We got the chance to go hands-on with some of that new content this past weekend at PSX in Anaheim, CA.

The original Accounting is a free download on Steam for HTC Vive (and unofficially Oculus Rift) and it’s a brisk journey through several layers of VR simulations, each of which get progressively more ridiculous the deeper you go. Roiland’s signature humor comes through from the opening moments and it features some of the most innovative character interaction we’ve seen in VR yet.

And it was definitely not the type of game you’d play once then never touch again. Because there was so much nuance to how conversations progressed and innovations in terms of the environments you’d explore, most people would be encouraged to play it through at least a few times to really see everything it has to offer.

The premise is of course that you are an accountant, as the name suggests, and find yourself on a journey through a series of VR experiences. It has an Inception-esque feel to it as you progress deeper and deeper into VR as the game goes on and the dark humor pulls no punches to make you feel as uncomfortable as possible.

Now Accounting+ looks to take all of that and multiply everything. Featuring over twice as much content, several new areas, new characters, and more, Accounting+ is shaping up to be way more than just a simple port over to the PSVR platform.

During my demo at PSX what I played was almost entirely new content. Things opened up with a very tongue-in-cheek tutorial that walked me through everything from interacting with the world around me to teleporting and rotating my view. These are all things that didn’t exist on Vive since the game was designed originally to be played with a roomscale setup.

Once out of there I came face to face with The Tree Guy, arguable the most popular character from the first Accounting game. He’s a white blob of a guy that yells and screams and flails at you no matter what you’re doing, but most especially if you touch any of his stuff. The vulgarity is jsut as hilarious as ever, as-is his appropriate response to someone magically teleporting into his home and invading his space. I’d freak out too, if I were him.

After causing a bit of a ruckus in that area I jumped into the next one which was totally new. Here I was in the back of a van with four small critters. One was driving, two were injured, and one was dead.

The driver and his passengers frantically start to yell at me, as-is the case with the majority of scenarios in Accounting. They’re fleeing from the cops so it’s up to me to figure out how to deal with the situation.

Before long the other critters in the van find bullets in their skulls as well, gushing blood, which only serves to make things even more hectic and stressful. I don’t want to spoil too much about the content of the game or its jokes — since that’s the whole point in playing — but suffice it to say that I sat there in my chair at a demo station in PSX and laughed out loud several times, not caring who was watching.

Obviously we haven’t seen all of the content that Accounting+ packs, but if it’s all of the same quality that we’ve seen so far then fans of Crows, Crows, Crows, Squanch Games, and Justin Roiland should not be disappointed. With twice as much content as the free version, this is certainly much more than just a port. You can find out more about the game in this on-stage discussion from PSX.

Accounting+ comes out very soon (as in like, next week) on December 19th exclusively for PSVR. You can still play the original Accounting right now via Steam for free. Let us know what you think of the game down in the comments below!

Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games to Bring Accounting+ to PlayStation VR This Month

Last year indie developer Crows Crows Crows (The Stanley Parable) teamed up with Justin Roiland’s (co-creator of Rick and Morty) Squanchtendo to release a bizarre, and darkly comedic virtual reality (VR) title called Accounting, which launched for free on HTC Vive. Now the studios – Squanchtendo recently changed its name the Squanch Games – have announced a successor in the form of Accounting+, exclusive to PlayStation VR.

Much like the first title, Accounting+ is a ‘nightmare comedy adventure’, just this time it’s twice as big as before and it’ll be playable during the PlayStation Experience in Anaheim this weekend.

accountingplus

Featuring the vocal talents of Roiland, Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) among others, Accounting+ will have you playing with bombs, cutting weird characters open, playing the bone xylophone and other bizarre activities. And of course there’s the vocal Tree Guy, who’ll be as helpful as last time by swearing at you constantly.

To get a better idea of what’s in store check out the first trailer for Accounting+ below. The title is due for release on PlayStation VR on 19th December 2017. Unlike the PC version however Accounting+ isn’t free, retailing for $11.99 USD/€11.99 EUR/ £11.99 GBP, but there is a 15% discount available if you pre-order. At present there’s been no confirmation on whether Accounting+ will support other VR headsets in the future.

‘Accounting+’ for PSVR Gets New ‘Waterpark’ Level in Latest Update

Squanch Games (formerly Squanchtendo) and partner studio Crows Crows Crows have just added a new level to their PSVR game Accounting+ (2017). Called ‘The Waterpark Update’, the level is a free update that also includes a free theme.

Update (02/07/18): Squanch Games has just pushed a new update to ‘Accounting+’ that adds a new water park level to the game. This time you’re in water-logged back room of a water park in the company of a strange, rambling clown.

Original Article (12/08/17): Called Accounting+the studio says the ‘nightmare adventure comedy’ game is double the size of the original, including characters voiced by Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty), Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation), and Arin Hanson (Game Grumps) to name a few.

While not free like its predecessor, at a $12 price tag (15% discount available at pre-order) it promises to pile on the hilarity with plenty of the freewheeling ad lib humor fans of Rick and Morty are sure to appreciate. Both games were developed in collaboration by Crows Crows Crows, a Berlin-based studio.

It’s uncertain at this time when/if Accounting+ will be made available on other headsets, but we’ll be watching it closely, so check back for more info soon.

Released October 2016 for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Accounting currently holds an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam, with 96% of players giving it the thumbs up.

You can get a pretty good idea of what’s in store by taking a look at our hands-on with the first Accounting, but it’s truly something you have to experience to understand, as it delves into different layers of virtual reality, all filled with their own brand of nonsensical tasks and unwinnable situations that usually result in the most hilarious outcomes imaginable.

If you’re going to be at PlayStation Experience in Anaheim between December 9-10, demos of Accounting+ will be available to the public. Check out Squanch Games Twitter feed for more information where to find it closer to the show.

The Game Awards 2017: Vacation Simulator angekündigt, RE 7 holt sich Preis

The Game Awards 2017: Resident Evil 7 holt Auszeichnung, zwei neue PSVR-Titel
