The VR Game Launch Roundup: Lots of Guns, Little Collaboration

VR Game Roundup

Welcome back to the first VR Game Launch Roundup of 2021, a time where VRFocus looks to the week ahead and what virtual reality (VR) content is due to arrive. While January can be a quiet month after all the festive sales have ended there are still a few interesting titles to arrive, especially for PlayStation VR owners.

CollabHub

CollabHub – CollabHub

Ok, so not technically a videogame but with lots of you having to work remotely these types of app are becoming popular. CollabHub is built around a central whiteboard where up to 12 of you can get together come up with ideas, and then put digital pen to digital paper so to speak.

Having been in Early Access since 2017, next week sees the official launch of CollabHub.

Buried Alive: The Annihilation VR – The Two Ravens

Created by two-man development team The Two Ravens, Buried Alive: The Annihilation VR is a gritty VR wave shooter. Released as an Early Access title, this visceral shooter sees you having to survive hordes of monsters anyway you like using medieval poles, axes, bows and of course plenty of guns.

To mix up the gameplay, Buried Alive: The Annihilation VR features an open world where you can explore, uncover the storyline, buy and upgrade guns as well as solving puzzles and finding a few easter eggs along the way.

Hitman 3

Hitman 3 – IO Interactive

Time for the biggest launch of the month, IO Interactive’s highly anticipated Hitman 3. Supporting most console and PC platforms, the PlayStation 4 version also happens to be PlayStation VR compatible. The entire campaign alongside all the additional modes are supported in VR, you can even bring locations from Hitman 1 & 2 – if you own them – into the third installment.

This will be the first time you can fully step into the shoes of Agent 47 and enjoy all the immersive qualities VR offers. The title only supports DualShock 4 controllers though, PlayStation Move isn’t supported.

  • Supported platforms: PlayStation VR
  • Launch date: 20th January

Bullet Roulette VR – Fibrum

For a very, very different style of shooter there’s Fibrum’s Bullet Roulette VR, adding a slight spin to the infamous game of Russian Roulette. With single and multiplayer modes, you sit at a table with three others and try to survive as long as possible.

To offer some variety and strategy to the experience you’re provided with various cards which can alter the gameplay and even save your life if you’re lucky.

  • Launch date: 21st January

Glider Sim – Joey Sipos
