Nominations are now Open for the VR Awards 2019

For the last three years, the VR Awards have been recognising and celebrating the best in virtual reality (VR), from the latest videogames and hardware to the studios and companies that build them and more. Today, the nominations are now open for this year’s awards, with a range of categories to fill.

VR Awards 2018

Overseen by The Academy of International Extended Reality’s (AIXR) independent VR Advisory panel, the VR Awards 2019 features the following 12 categories:

  • VR Hardware of the Year
  • VR Game of the Year
  • VR Experience of the Year
  • VR Film of the Year
  • VR Marketing of the Year
  • Rising VR Company of the Year
  • Innovative VR Company of the Year
  • VR Social Impact Award
  • VR Enterprise Solution of the Year
  • VR Education & Training of the Year
  • VR Healthcare of the Year
  • Out-of-Home VR Entertainment of the Year

“Celebrating innovation and outstanding achievement at the VR Awards is key to ensuring that pioneering projects are recognised and given a platform for their achievements. We’re presenting the very best virtual reality has to offer and year on year the quality of nominations exceed our expectations,” said Daniel Colaianni, Chief Executive of AIXR in a statement.

The nominations close on 7th May, after which a panel of 80 expert judges will shortlist the nominees with the finalists announced on 18th June 2019.

Terms and conditions worth noting are: “Before submitting a nomination, check the relevant award criteria. On the next page, you will be asked to confirm your chosen categories and register your full details, a £149 + VAT entry fee per nomination will automatically be applied.

“You can submit an unreleased product/service during the nomination period, providing it is released by the 1st July 2019. Projects must not have been released prior to 6th May 2018.”
