BANDAI NAMCO Unveils Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Collectors Edition

There’s only three months to go until BANDAI NAMCO launches its long awaited flying sequel Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR support. The studio has now revealed further details for its upcoming Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Collectors Edition.

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the Collector’s Edition (uniquely numbered) will contain:

  • The full game of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
  • Season Pass: which includes three aircrafts, three additional missions and a music player mode
  • Exclusive die-cast metal figurine of the Arsenal Bird Fighter plane (40cm:500g)
  • A4 art book titled ‘ACES at WAR: A HISTORY 2019’ (150 pages of exclusive illustrations, interviews and 4 short novels written by writer-director Sunao Katabuchi)
  • 3cm Ace Combat metal pin
  • 2 embroidered patches of Erusea and Usea crests

This has only been detailed for European customers. As VRFocus previously reported last month, North American will be able to make use of a different offer via the PlayStation Store. If they pre-order Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown they’ll receive a dynamic theme straight away, a McDonnell Douglas F-4E plane and three aircraft skins for launch, and a full version of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War to enjoy (again available at launch).

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown tells the story of a conflict between the Kingdom of Erusea and the Osean Federation, which has escalated after the Osean Federation builds a giant space elevator in Erusea. PlayStation VR support won’t include the entire videogame, instead BANDAI NAMCO has created exclusive missions for the headset.

Having previously demoed the title VRFocus found that: “In its present state Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown promises high octane flying action for PlayStation VR players that’s sure to encourage legions of fans to try the VR compatibility. As long as Bandai Namco manage to provide enough content to satisfy then PlayStation VR is likely to have another killer exclusive title when the videogame finally arrives next year.”

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is scheduled for take-off on 18th January, 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and 1st February, 2019 for PC. Should any further details arise, VRFocus will let you know.
