Today, Sony publishing label UNTIES and developer CAVYHOUSE have launched their occult suspense 3D novel The Midnight Sanctuary for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam. The title will also get virtual reality (VR) support for PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive in the near future.
A Japanese supernatural horror tale set in a village long-segregated for its religious beliefs, The Midnight Sanctuary features a blend of 2D and 3D graphics with immersive audio elements to elevate the ghostly mystery to another level of eeriness.

“It’s a very Japanese tale of supernatural horror told with the exceptional aesthetic distinction CAVYHOUSE brings to all their games,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, UNTIES in a statement. “The studio’s distinct brand of storytelling adds another layer of eeriness to The Midnight Sanctuary’s unsettling mystery.”
The Midnight Sanctuary is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam for $9.99 USD and supports English text localization, with full audio and text available in Japanese. While a VR version is in the works, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive users can download a demo version from Steam for a brief taster. When details do surface on the VR release VRFocus will let you know.
