Bulgarian indie developer Repulse Game Studio has revealed that its upcoming virtual reality (VR) first-person shooter (FPS) Experiment Gone Rogue – previously called 10 Cupcakes – will be entering its third round of closed beta testing, and users can apply now.
Just like the previous betas, Repulse Game Studio will be giving free keys to access the beta on the studio’s Discord channel. Done on a first come first served basis, applicants will either need an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headset to participate.
“After our second beta testing which got us amazing feedback, we implemented a lot of new features and as we come close to release, we want to run another test so that we make sure our players are satisfied with what we have done and will have a blast,” said Raya Nedyalkova, marketing organizer at Repulse in a statement.
The new beta version will feature new and improved components including: both smooth locomotion and teleportation systems; dynamic roomscale gunplay; physics based punching that transfers your punch velocity into the videogame; a wide variety of weapons and rare versions of them; multiple boss fights; flying vehicles; a VR Go Go bar with champagne room and several extra unlockable features via minigames.
Experiment Gone Rogue is set in a dystopian future where an alien race, known as the Cirinians, has come to Earth and asserted itself as the ruler of humanity. The positive public image they have created for themselves acts as a veil to hide the experiments they have been performing. Players take the role of a genetically enhanced super soldier who was created with the sole purpose of warfare. They’ll be able to punch their way through enemies, take the fight to the skies, dual wield any weapon, fight monstrous bosses, eat cupcakes and more to save the day.
Repulse Game Studio has yet to finalise a launch window for Experiment Gone Rogue, when it does, VRFocus will let you know.
