A Virtual Reality Press Conference Will Be Hosted by Taiwan Machine Tools

A number of products and applications have been made available that allow people working in the same company or industry to collaborate on a design or project by using virtual reality (VR). VR has advantages in this area in that it provides a sense of physical presence, instead of just showing flat images. Taiwan Machine Tools are using this concept to present a VR press conference.

The VR press conference from Taiwan Machine Tools, which has been titled ‘Taiwan: Make Tomorrow Come True’ is due to be held during the 2018 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago.

A number of companies and their products will be shown during the press conference, which will feature a 360-degree VR video tour of key products. The press conference will be held on 12th September at Chicago’s McCormick Place, with VR headsets provided for every registered attendee.

Companies planned to be featured during the press conference include:

Feeler – Showing a gantry-style Feeler U-800 5-axis machining centre, which is designed for high-precision machining of parts of aerospace, automotive and energy industries.

NexCOBOT – A Internet of Things (IoT) solution with AI robot control compatible with SCADA and Microsoft Azure.

Palmary – IoT capabilities have been added to the company’s portfolio of CNC devices.

Quaser Machine Tools – A wireless network, database establishment, smart software for five-axis machines.

Taiwan Takisawa Technology Co – the TiMES Smart Manufacturing Execution System, with sophisticated product management, dispatch and scheduling.

Techman Robot – A collaborative robot that combines smart built-in vision and hand-guiding functions for automated pick-and-place.

Tongtai Group – Focussing on newest machine models for additive and hybrid manufacturing.

YCM Industries – Offering a direct IoT platform for intelligent production management.
