Earlier this year Vuzix issued a letter to its shareholders regarding what the company is expecting to achieve over the coming months and years. Vuzix revealed that they expected revenues for 2018 to exceed those of 2017, thanks to an increasing number of companies embracing VR technology. The upcoming conference call will be to review its operating results for Q2 of 2018.
Taking part in the conference call will be Vuzix CEO and President Paul Travers along with CFO Grant Russell, who will be discussing operational and financial highlights for the quarter ended 30th June, 2018.
Vuzix have previously indicated that they are doing well, with number of factor influencing the company’s growth. The company has noted that there are over 750 pilot schemes currently ongoing that utilise Vuzix augmented reality (AR) smartglasses technology, such as the M300 smartglasses.
Several companies have already agreed to upgrade from a pilot scheme to full roll-out for the technology, which sees a large increase in order numbers for the company, such as with the recent large order from AMA XpertEye, a video conferencing firm.
One of the key areas for Vuzix has been the industrial sector, which has turned to AR and in particular smartglasses to assist with functions such as remote maintenance, stock control and quality assurance, all while insuring that an employee’s hands are kept free.
“Our M300 Smart Glasses enterprise business continues to expand in 2018 and we are delighted to see an existing customer place a single follow-on M300 order that far exceeds their 2017 total order volume. Vuzix is making a concerted effort to work closer with our extensive M300 enterprise customer base to successfully migrate hundreds of active pilot programs into productive larger rollouts.” said Paul Travers, Vuzix President and Chief Executive Officer.
