The Soviet Union Never Looked so Weird in Soviet Lunapark VR; Now in Early Access

What do you get if you mix virtual reality (VR) with an alternative Soviet Union universe full of insanity and somewhat creepy looking robots? Soviet Lunapark VR, the debut VR title from Mundfish which puts up to four players into a first-person shooter (FPS) theme park where nothing is normal and there is plenty to shoot.

Soviet Lunapark VR

The title takes place in facility No3826, hidden somewhere in the Soviet Union, and is home to the magnificent creations of Dr Pavlov. Players are invited to immersive themselves in this world of thinking machines and disgusting corpses as they try to survive. Play as one of four characters each with their own unique abilities such an engineer who can stop time, a nurse who can tame the zombies and other crazy characters.

Featuring stunning and creative visuals that bring the world of facility No3826 to life, players will need to complete a number of different levels in order to be victorious. Each one will offer a different challenge with a unique mechanic including puzzles, small cutscenes, story beats and even bosses that need taking down. Players will need to make use of a range of weapons in order to succeed along with working together as a team, using their characters abilities at the ideal time to improve that chance of victory.

If all that action sounds a bit to much then you can also relax on the abandoned Soviet paradise island, which used to be a USSR High Command resort. Here players will be able to play a hamster arcade machine with your friends. There are also plenty of other interesting ways to spend your time on the Soviet island with friends, offering a change of pace from the action packed adventures elsewhere.

Soviet Lunapark VR is available now on Steam Early Access for £8.99 (GBP) until the 7th June, 2018 when it will return to the normal price of £14.49. The title supports the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift along with including both teleportation and locomotion movement with both right-handed and left-handed control schemes.

Mundfish are also currently working on another title by the name of Atomic Heart which takes place the in the same alternative universe as Soviet Lunapark VR and even the same location, facility No3826. There’s currently no word on whether this title also supports VR but VRFocus will be sure to bring you the latest on both and Mundfish in future, so stay tuned for more.
