The ever popular augmented reality (AR) application Pokémon Go will be hosting another set of events this year as developer Niantic Labs has announced Pokémon Go Fest 2018 and Pokémon Go Safari Zone Dortmund.
Pokémon Go Fest was held last year in Chicago and was sadly met with some technical issues that prevented the event from being as much of a hit as it should of been. Attendees were even given refunds due to the glitches and long lines that were at the event in Grant Park, Chicago. The Pokémon Go Fest 2018 will be held once again in Chicago but this time around it will take place in Chicago’s Lincoln Park on the 14th and 15th July, with Niantic Labs promising “unique, immersive play experience unseen anywhere else that will create a daylong adventure for Trainers.”
The event will feature a 1.8-mile long walking course that, along with the stunning views that will be on offer, attendees will find a number of exclusive activities for Trainers of all ages to take part in during the event. Though the details on what these activities are is currently a bit thin, tickets for Pokémon Go Fest 2018 will be on sale from 11th May and cost $20 (USD) and be available for the event website.
Elsewhere, Trainers will be able to take part in a new Pokémon Go Safari Zone that is set to be held in Dortmund, Germany. The event will be running from 30th June to 1st July in the Westfalenpark. This location is not just one of the largest inner-city parks in Europe but also features a Japanese garden, a large playground for kids and even a number of water features. This makes it the ideal location for trains to be able to spend the day catching plenty of Pokémon, with activities expanding to the entire city district during the event days and it is an open event for everyone to enjoy. Trains in Asia will also be happy to know that later this summer a Pokémon Go Safari Zone will be held in Yokosuka, Japan.
Lastly, if that was not enough for trainers, the monthly Pokémon Go Community Day will feature the Fire-type Pokémon Charmander this month. Taking place on Saturday, 19th May, trainers will be able to catch a Charmander with an exclusive move during the three hour event window.
