PlayStation VR Retail Release of Don’t Knock Twice Comes to North America

PlayStation VR is the one virtual reality (VR) headset that gets physical retail releases. Last October Wales Interactive brought horror title Don’t Knock Twice to stores in the UK, today it’s the turn of North America thanks to publisher Perp Games.

Supporting PlayStation 4 with optimisations for PlayStation VR, Don’t Knock Twice is based on the 2017 movie of the same name, a psychological horror based on a urban legend about a vengeful, demonic witch, who can be summoned by knocking twice on a old derelict house. For the videogame, players are cast as a guilt-ridden mother who must save her estranged daughter. They find themselves inside a grand manor house which must be explored as they search for her.

“The horror genre includes some of the most riveting videogames out there,” said Mickey Torode, director of publishing at Perp Games in a statement. “Fear and atmosphere really suck players into the gaming experience, and VR creates another method of really captivating and involving players. We look forward to bringing more immersive VR experiences like Don’t Knock Twice to the PlayStation platform.”

VRFocus reviewed the HTC Vive version of Don’t Knock Twice, saying: ” it provides one of the scariest, heart thumping VR experiences out there, with a beautifully designed mansion to explore – especially when you get to free-roam.”

This will be followed by a Steam release with both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift compatibility on 16th April 2018.
